摘要: A slip clutch assembly includes a clutch carrier, a one-way clutch assembly, and a preloaded clutch assembly. The one-way clutch assembly has a portion fixed to the clutch carrier. The preloaded clutch assembly has a first clutch plate, a second clutch plate, and a resilient element. The first clutch plate is drivingly engaged with the carrier. The second clutch plate is arranged for driving engagement with a first portion of a transmission. The resilient element is for compressing the first and second clutch plates. In some example embodiments, the one-way clutch assembly has an outer race, an inner race, and a plurality of blocking elements. The outer race is fixed to the clutch carrier. The inner race is arranged to engage a second portion of the transmission. The blocking elements are selected from the group of rollers or sprags for selectively locking the outer race to the inner race and are disposed radially between the outer race and inner race.

摘要: An enhanced material-processing device and method are disclosed, having a processing tool of substantially circular circumference, which is operative with a power tool having a rotating spindle and jaws, which clamp the processing tool. The enhanced material-processing device has a central opening that is entered concentrically in the processing tool for receiving a clutch mechanism, and a hub structure. The hub structure is associated with the clutch mechanism to form a slip clutch that is integrally mounted in the enhanced material-processing device and is operative by application of an axial compression friction fit on the processing tool, which slips relative to the rotating spindle when a threshold torque limit is reached. The clutch mechanism is preloaded in axial compression through a predetermined elastic strain distance to provide a friction fit having a torque limit threshold, which torque limit of the slip clutch is controllably pre-adjustable.

摘要: Certain embodiments of the present disclosure describe a differential assembly for allowing a vehicle to switch between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. The differential assembly includes a bearing assembly positioned between a race gear and output hubs. An armature plate is rotationally coupled to the bearing assembly and a clutch plate is positioned to engage the armature plate. A biasing member biases the clutch plate to engage the armature plate and allow the bearing assembly to transmit torque between the race gear and output hubs. When electricity is provided to an electromagnet, the electromagnet exerts a magnetic force on the clutch plate that is sufficient to overcome the bias of the biasing member so the clutch plate does not engage the armature plate and the bearing assembly does not transmit torque from the race gear to the output hubs.

摘要: A tensioning device is provided for tensioning a retractor in a wheelchair securement system. The tensioning device may include a clutch assembly for communicating rotational movement of a handle to a drive shaft operably connected to the spool of the retractor. The clutch assembly may include a pawl operably connected to the handle, which pawl communicates rotational movement of the handle to a drive sprocket. The clutch assembly may also include a friction member which communicates rotation of the drive sprocket to the drive shaft up to a predetermined amount of rotational force. If the rotational force exceeds the predetermined amount, the friction member will slip and cease to transfer rotational movement from the drive sprocket to the drive shaft. The clutch assembly may also include a compression member for compressing the friction member and drive sprocket whereby the predetermined amount of force may be adjusted.

摘要: In one aspect, a decoupler comprises an input member, an output member, and a torsional isolation spring, a carrier, and a wrap spring clutch configured to operate in a first mode in which rotary power is transmitted in a first rotational direction from the input member to the output member serially through the wrap spring clutch, the carrier, and the isolation spring, and a second mode in which the output member overruns the input member in the first rotational direction. The carrier has a carrier clutch drive face that receives a first vector force from an end of the wrap spring clutch, and an isolation spring drive face that receives a second vector force from an end of the isolation spring. The wrap spring clutch and isolation spring drive faces are arranged so as to direct the second vector force to intersect with the first vector force substantially at the carrier clutch drive face.
