Abstract:
The invention relates to kinase inhibitor ligands and polyligands. In particular, the invention relates to ligands and polyligands that modulate ERK activity. The ligands and polyligands are utilized as research tools or as therapeutics. The invention includes linkage of the ligands and polyligands to a cellular localization signal, epitope tag and/or a reporter. The invention also includes polynucleotides encoding the ligands and polyligands.
Abstract:
A vehicle controlled via a joystick has a turn request mode and a return to center request. While the operator is requesting a turn, steered wheels are turned at a predetermined rate, steering angle continuing to change while the turn request is being applied. When the operator ceases requesting a turn, the return to center mode is invoked: a direction of a virtual wheel of the vehicle is determined and such direction is maintained. A vehicle angular velocity is computed based on vehicle velocity and a virtual steering angle, which is the angle between the direction the virtual wheel is pointing and the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. To maintain the direction of the virtual wheel during a return to center, the virtual wheel is turned at an angular velocity equal in magnitude to the angular velocity of the vehicle and in a direction to return to center.

Abstract:
In one embodiment of the invention, a master tool is disclosed including a top plate, a plurality of buttons, and a releasable locking mechanism. The top plate has an array of openings and a top side with a background patterned surface. The plurality of buttons are in the array of openings and configured to be repositioned to selectively orient their orientable patterned surface into a different orientation with respect to the background patterned surface. The releasable locking mechanism releasably locks the position of the plurality of buttons within the array of openings to hold the selected orientation of each orientable patterned surface with respect to the background patterned surface to provide a top surface pattern. The top surface pattern of the master tooling may be transferred to form a surface pattern into retro-reflective sheeting during its manufacture.
Abstract:
In one embodiment of the invention, retro-reflective sheeting is disclosed. The retro-reflective sheeting comprises a flexible optical material film or substrate having a geometric optical surface opposite a base surface. The geometric optical surface includes a background pattern region of corner cubes arranged at a first orientation with respect to an edge of the retro-reflective sheeting; and an array of circular corner cube regions periodically interrupting the background pattern region of corner cubes. Each of the circular corner cube regions has a second orientation with respect to the edge of the retro-reflective sheeting. The array of the plurality of circular corner cube regions reflects incident light differently than the background pattern region of corner cubes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to polarized cell tubulo-vesicular structure localization signals. The localization signals are utilized as research tools or are linked to polypeptides of interest or therapeutic molecules. Disclosed are methods of making and using polypeptides and modified polypeptides as signals to localize therapeutics, experimental compounds, peptides, proteins and/or other macromolecules to the tubulo-vesicular structures of polarized cells. The polypeptides of the invention optionally include linkage to reporters, epitopes and/or other experimental or therapeutic molecules. The invention also encompasses polynucleotides encoding the localization signals and vectors comprising these polynucleotides.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a decorative light string, being formable to provide varying shapes, to hold position when wrapped around or placed upon structures to be decorated, and to facilitate storage without tangling of one or more light strings.

Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to heat removal from circuit board components and, more specifically, to improved thermal management for circuit board components mounted on electrical wiring boards. The structure comprises a heat sink; and an auxiliary heat sink positioned in thermal contact with the heat sink and a circuit board component on a wiring board, the auxiliary heat sink having a plurality of slots located in a central portion of the auxiliary heat sink, wherein the auxiliary heat sink is both mechanically compliant and thermally conductive with both the heat sink and the circuit board component.
