Abstract:
Provided is a progressive scan method used in a display using adaptive edge interpolation. According to the progressive scan method, a final edge direction that satisfies a first edge-determination condition and a second edge-determination condition is detected by performing interpolation for 7×3 pixel windows, using code determination and a comparison of a standard deviation based on differences between luminances of pixel data divided by an edge boundary. As a result, directional edge interpolation is carried out in a region of a low gradient below 45° and to 27° at the minimum, and simple intra-field linear interpolation can be performed in a high-frequency texture region. Subsequently, it is possible to remove high-frequency noise introduced in edge dependent interpolation or unnatural screen display due to zigzagged edges, thereby improving the quality of a display.

A battery pack case adapted to enclose a protective circuit module and a bare cell includes at least one small opening arranged on a side to expose an external terminal of the protective circuit module and a large opening arranged in the opposite direction to the small opening to expose a surface of the bare cell. Since a bare cell and a protective circuit module are contained within an integral case, the bare cell is prevented from escaping out of the protective circuit module and no separate resin is necessary to fill the gap between the bare cell and the protective circuit module. In addition, the battery pack case has gates, through which a resin is injected, which are properly arrayed in such a manner during resin injection that the case has no unshaped part.

Selective erase method for a flash memory device including a group of memory cells arranged in rows and columns include performing an erase operation on the group of memory cells and verifying the erase operation on the group of memory cells to determine threshold voltages of the memory cells. At least one row of memory cells including memory cells having a threshold voltage lower than a desired erase threshold voltage is identified. A further erase operation is performed on the group of memory cells excluding memory cells of the at least one row of memory cells including memory cells having a threshold voltage lower than a desired erase threshold voltage.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of fabricating a silicon fin useful in preparing FinFET type semiconductor structures. The method is particularly useful for creating fins with a width and smoothness appropriate for sub-50 nm type gates. The method begins with a silicon fin prepared by lithographic means from an SOI type structure such that the fin is larger in dimension, particularly width, than is desired in the final fin. If desired the silicon fin can include a nitride cap. A conformal diffusion layer, such as of silicon dioxide, is then deposited onto the fin and silicon dioxide substrate. A PECVD deposition using TEOS gas is one method to deposit the diffusion layer. The coated fin is then heated and exposed to oxygen. The oxygen diffuses through the diffusion layer and converts a portion of the silicon material to silicon dioxide. This oxidation continues until a desired amount of silicon material is converted to SiO2 such that the remaining silicon has the desired dimensions. The silicon fin is then exposed through wet etching steps that remove the silicon dioxide coating.

Methods of searching for a sync word in an MPEG compressed audio bitstream including a plurality of MPEG audio frames can include determining whether first data in the bitstream has a value equal to a sync word value. It can be determined whether the first data is a valid sync word based on a comparison of a plurality of data that are separated in the bitstream from the first data by at least a frame length to the sync word value.
