Abstract:
This invention provides flexible adhesive compositions which can be used instead of joint reinforcement tape for securing a joint seam between abutting panels. Methods using the compositions are provided as well.
Abstract:
A joint compound tool including a body having a first end, an opposing second end and a handle. A blade portion is attached to the first end of the body and a lid opener is movably attached to the second end of the body, where the lid opener is movable between a storage position adjacent to the handle and an operative position away from the handle.
Abstract:
Disclosed are product (e.g., panels), slurry, and methods relating to a pregelatinized starch having a mid-range viscosity (i.e., from about 20 centipoise to about 700 centipoise), and an extruded pregelatinized starch.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a composite gypsum board comprising a hoard core and a concentrated layer of substantial thickness (e.g., at least about 0.02 inches). The concentrated layer includes a higher weight percentage of an enhancing additive than the board core. The board core has a thickness greater than the thickness of the concentrated layer and forms the bulk of the board volume. The concentrated layer has a higher density (e.g., at least about 1.1 times greater) than the density of the board core. Also disclosed is a method of preparing a composite gypsum board.
Abstract:
A cementitious hydrating patch composition is provided with improved strength and abrasion resistance. The patch comprises Portland cement in the amount from 2% to 10%, Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate in the amount from 2% to 30%, Gypsum in the amount from 0% to 15%, Calcium Aluminate Cement in the amount from 15% to 40%, Calcium Carbonate in the amount from 0% to 40%, at least one filler in the amount from 1% to 30%; and at least one binder in the amount from 10% to 40%, wherein all amounts are based on dry weight of the composition. Methods of preparing and using the patch composition are provided as well.
Abstract:
A wooden frame truss with enhanced fire resistance is provided and includes an upper chord extending along a longitudinal axis, a lower chord disposed below the upper chord and extending along a vertically displaced, parallel axis, a plurality of supports attached between the upper and lower chords, and a plurality of metal gusset plates securing the supports to the chords. At least one wallboard batten strip is attached to an underside of the lower chord, the strip being constructed and arranged so that the strip defines a ledge extending from each side of the lower chord.
Abstract:
Provided are building panels comprising at least one magnet receptive element, methods for making such panels, and kits and methods for attaching objects to a panel without nails or screws.
Abstract:
A punch assembly for creating clean holes in a wallboard sheet having at least one surface with a face paper layer. The punch assembly includes a frame having a lower assembly configured to support the wallboard sheet, a plate on an upper frame assembly being reciprocable relative to the at least one surface of the wallboard sheet, at least one stripper bushing connected to the plate, where the at least one stripper bushing including a hole and a piercing edge, and at least one punch configured to move through the hole in the at least one stripper bushing. In operation, the plate is moved against the at least one surface of the wallboard sheet so that the piercing edge of the at least one stripper bushing contacts the face paper layer and at least partially cuts the face paper layer prior to the at least one punch moving through the wallboard sheet to form at least one clean hole in the wallboard sheet.
Abstract:
An oil well cementing product comprising DTPA-coated synthetic calcined gypsum, at least one accelerator, at least one retarder, at least one plasticizer and limestone is provided. Also provided are methods for cementing oil wells with mixtures comprising DTPA-coated synthetic calcined gypsum, at least one accelerator, at least one retarder, at least one plasticizer and limestone.
