摘要: A dual-cavity pump having a pump body with a substantially elliptical shape including a cylindrical wall closed at each end by end plates is disclosed. The pump further comprises a pair of disc-shaped interior plates supported within the pump by a ring-shaped isolator affixed to the cylindrical wall of the pump body. The internal surfaces of the cylindrical wall, one of the end plates, one of the interior plates, and the ring-shaped isolator form a first cavity within the pump. The internal surfaces of the cylindrical wall, the other end plate, the other interior plate, and the ring-shaped isolator form a second cavity within the pump. The interior plates together form an actuator that is operatively associated with the central portion of the interior plates. The illustrative embodiments of the dual-cavity pump have three valves including one located within a common end wall between the cavities of the pump. Methods for fabricating the pump are also disclosed.

摘要: A reduced-pressure treatment system for treating a tissue site of a patient, the system includes a manifold pad for disposing proximate the tissue site. The manilfold pad includes a hydrogel reservoir member and a manifold member. The hydrogel reservoir member is adapted to receive and store fluid from the tissue site at a first pressure and adapted to release at least a portion of the fluid at a second pressure. The first pressure is greater than the second pressure on an absolute pressure scale. The system also includes a sealing drape for placing over the tissue and manifold pad. The sealing drape forms a fluid seal over the tissue and manifold pad. A reduced-pressure subsystem delivers reduced pressure to the sealing drape. Other systems, apparatuses, and methods are disclosed.

摘要: A reduced pressure tissue treatment system includes an applicator having an aperture, a first pad section, and a second pad section substantially covering the aperture and positioned substantially adjacent the first pad section. A fabric layer is located at least partially between the second pad section and the drape, and the fabric layer includes a woven or non-woven fabric made from a fiber material. A drape substantially covers the first pad section, the second pad section, the fabric layer, and the applicator. A reduced pressure source is in fluid communication with at least one of the first pad section and the fabric layer for providing reduced pressure to the aperture.

摘要: The illustrative embodiments described herein are directed to apparatuses, systems, and methods for managing liquid flow associated with a tissue site that involves using reduced pressure to control fluid flow. In one instance, an apparatus includes a first valve and a second valve in fluid communication with a reduced-pressure source. The valves are movable between an open position and a closed position and are operable to change flow status (open to closed or vice versa) based on a presence of reduced pressure. At least one of the first valve or the second valve is in the closed position to obstruct a flow of a liquid while the other is in the open position. The apparatus also includes a reservoir fluidly coupled to the first valve and the second valve. Other systems, methods, and apparatuses are presented.
