摘要: Disclosed herein are systems, methods and apparatuses for dissociating a non-activated gas through a disc-shaped plasma in a remote plasma source. Two inductive elements, one on either side of the disc-shaped plasma, generate a magnetic field that induces electric fields that sustain the disc-shaped plasma. The inductive elements can be coiled conductors having any number of loops and can be arranged in planar or vertical coils or a combination of planar and vertical coils. Additionally, the ratio of inductive element radius to gap distance between the two inductive elements can be configured to achieve a desired vertical plasma confinement.

摘要: A pourer (10) couplable to an opening (12) of a container (14). The pourer (10) includes a spout (20), which has an outlet passage (22) for discharging liquid from the container (14) and a breather passage (24) for intake of air into the container (14). At least a portion of the spout (20) being deformable, and the outlet passage (22) and breather passage (24) co-extending through the deformable portion. A closure device (34) is used to selectively clamp the deformable portion of the spout (20), thereby closing the spout (20) by constricting both passages (22, 24).

摘要: A Chalaropsis lysozyme (Lysozyme Ch) is provided which has a corrected amino acid sequence and which can be utilized to prepare recombinant proteins having higher activity than those proteins prepared using the incorrect sequence. Methods are also provided to reduce immunogenicity or increase half-life of the lysozyme. The lysozyme Ch of the present invention will be extremely useful in killing bacteria, particularly resistance strains such as MRSA and VISA, and the enzyme can be utilized in a variety of settings wherein bacterial infection has been a particular problem such as the hospital setting or in veterinary applications, and can also be used as an effective means of combating bioterror agents.

摘要: A centrifugal pump with a hydrodynamic bearing and a double involute is disclosed. Some embodiments may include an impeller housing comprising a fluid entrance to allow fluid to enter and an impeller located within the impeller housing, the impeller comprising a plurality of impeller blades, a plurality of fluid channels between the impeller blades, and a motor magnet. The impeller may rotate within the impeller housing about a pump centerline in response to an electromagnetic field and the fluid channels may each allow fluid to pass through when the impeller rotates. Embodiments may also include one or more hydrodynamic bearings positioned between the impeller and the impeller housing to support generated loads and a double involute coupled with the impeller housing and positioned to receive fluid exiting the plurality of fluid channels. Further embodiments may include a motor stator to generate the electromagnetic field. Other embodiments are disclosed and claimed.

摘要: Methods and devices for moving media sheets through an image forming device. A sensor is positioned within an input area to determine a height of a media stack. When the media stack is full, a top-most sheet of the media stack is physically closer to the beginning point of the media path. When the media stack is depleted, the top-most sheet is positioned a further distance away from the beginning point. Movement of the media sheet is determined based on the height of the media stack. When the media stack is above a predetermined amount, the media sheet is moved according to a first algorithm. When the media stack is below the predetermined amount, the media sheet is moved according to a second algorithm.
