Abstract: This disclosure relates to a system and method for isolating an interior of a motor vehicle from poor outdoor air quality. More particularly, this disclosure relates to a system and method configured to identify conditions associated with poor outdoor air quality and to respond to those conditions by isolating the interior of the motor vehicle from the outdoor environment. An example system includes a selector configured to permit a user to select a drive mode of the motor vehicle, a location system configured to detect a location of the motor vehicle, and a controller configured to issue one or more commands to isolate an interior of the motor vehicle from an environment outside the motor vehicle based on either a selected drive mode or a detected location.

Abstract: A system includes a processor configured to receive, via a vehicle-related interface, an object to be geo-fenced. The processor is also configured to receive adaptive parameters defining how a geo-fence should adapt to data types included with the parameters. The processor is further configured to find an instance of the object and create a geo-fence around the found object. The processor is also configured to track data corresponding to the adaptive parameters while a vehicle travels and adapt the created geo-fence based on the tracked data as guided by the parameters.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for launching a vehicle from rest in order to maximize performance for the vehicle launch event. In one example, a method comprises, in preparation of a launch of the vehicle driven by an engine from a resting state, rotating a set of vehicle tires via a controller by adjusting a torque of the engine while vehicle brakes are applied for a duration that is a function of real-time pressure sensor readings of the set of tires. In this way, tire temperature may be determined based on the real-time pressure sensor readings in order to control tire temperature to an optimal tire temperature for the launch event, where the optimal tire temperature is based on a coefficient of friction of the road surface the vehicle is launching from, and where the optimal tire temperature provides for optimal grip for the vehicle launch.

Abstract: A caravan is performed of a plurality of vehicles by an ego vehicle. An ego vehicle receives, in caravan messages via a wireless transceiver of the ego vehicle, capability information indicative of capabilities of the vehicles to traverse an obstacle along a route. Performance rankings that indicate relative capabilities of the vehicles per type of obstacle are determined based on the capability information. One or more ordering strategies are utilized to define a vehicle ordering for traversal of the obstacle along the route, the vehicle ordering being based on the performance rankings of the vehicles and the obstacle. The obstacle is traversed, by the caravan, according to the vehicle ordering.

An example apparatus comprises memory, instructions, and programmable circuitry to execute the instructions to determine a threshold value associated with at least one of a vehicle or a trailer, the trailer couplable to the vehicle, access an image containing an object to be placed in the trailer, divide the image into segments, at least one of the segments corresponding to the object, determine a characteristic of the object based on the at least one of the segments, compare the characteristic to the threshold value, and determine at least one operating characteristic of the vehicle based on the comparison.

Abstract: A vehicle for assisting a docking operation for a marine vessel. The vehicle includes a position sensor operable to detect a position of the marine vessel. The first controller is further operable to receive positional data corresponding to the position of the marine vessel relative to a dock. The first controller is further operable to communicate the positional data to the second controller to assist with the docking operation.
