Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify at least one collision between a periodic reporting of channel state information associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a periodic reference signal transmission associated with a second RAT, wherein each reference signal transmission of the periodic reference signal transmission is sequentially transmitted via a plurality of antennas based at least in part on a first antenna order. The UE may determine a second antenna order for the periodic reference signal transmission that resolves the at least one collision. The UE may transmit the periodic reference signal transmission using the second antenna order. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to select a set of beams to generate energy in a first coverage region (e.g., an out-of-coverage (OOC) region) to reduce the effects of a distorted electric field. The UE may select the set of beams based on gain parameters associated with a set of antennas at the UE, where the gain parameters are determined for communications in a second coverage region (e.g., an in-coverage (INC) region). In some examples, the UE may use iterative techniques to select the beams. In some examples, the UE may select the set of beams based on calculations using a set of codebook beams associated with the second coverage region. In some examples, the UE may additionally select the set of beams for communications in the second coverage region.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide apparatus and techniques that may be applied in systems that may help enable efficient communication between a base station (BS) and certain devices, such as wearable devices and/or machine type communication (MTC) user equipments (UEs), having a single receiver (RX) for long term evolution (LTE). An exemplary method, performed by a BS, generally includes receiving, from a UE, an indication of a category of the UE, wherein the category of the UE indicates at least one of: a maximum throughput supported by the UE or a number of layers supported by the UE; assuming a number of receivers at the UE based on the category of the UE; determining one or more transmit parameters based on the number of receivers of the UE; and communicating with the UE according to the one or more transmit parameters.

Abstract: Timing resolution for user equipments (UEs) that operate using a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode that includes various sleep cycles may be addressed through selection of various alternative wake up procedures. A UE selects a wake-up procedure based on the length of the sleep cycle. The UE may use details of the sleep cycle, including a time offset or timing uncertainty associated with the sleep cycle, when selecting the wake-up procedure. The UE may select to obtain system timing information either directly from a serving cell or non-serving cell in sync with the serving cell or may select to perform either a one-step or two-step pre-wake up procedure in order to obtain the system timing. Once the UE obtains the system timing or determines a wake-up procedure, it performs timing correction before the scheduled wake-up times between the sleep cycles.

Abstract: Device antennas may be allocated such that a non-LTE module (e.g., GSM module or 1x module) shares the same antenna with an LTE DRx module. This may lead to degradation of a non-LTE voice service when the LTE DRx module performs LTE transmit antenna selection causing the non-LTE module to be switched to a different antenna during reception/transmission of voice slots, resulting in a loss of slots. Accordingly, a method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for controlling antenna switching are provided. The apparatus facilitates a first radio module to use a first antenna for performing a first operation, detects that a second radio module will attempt to use the first antenna during transmit antenna selection for performing a second operation, and determines whether to switch use of the first antenna from the first radio module to the second radio module based on a type of the first operation.

Abstract: Reported CSI may not reflect non-cancelable CRS interference received from an interfering cell, such as when the CSI is computed when CRS interference is not received. To address the issue, a user equipment (UE) may determine an interference cancelation/suppression efficiency (CSE) associated with canceling/suppressing interference from interfering cells.
