Abstract: Use of silicon as a negative electrode active material particle causes a problem of expansion and contraction of the negative electrode active material particle due to charging and discharging. A negative electrode active material particle or a plurality of negative electrode active material particles are bound or fixed using a graphene compound to inhibit expansion and contraction of the negative electrode active material particle due to charging and discharging. In an all-solid-state secondary battery, an interface between a solid electrolyte and a negative electrode or an interface between the solid electrolyte and a positive electrode has the highest resistance. In order to reduce the interface resistance, at least the negative electrode active material particle is surrounded by a graphene compound to increase the conductivity. Alternatively, a positive electrode active material particle is surrounded by a graphene compound to increase the conductivity. Carrier ions, e.g., lithium ions, pass through a graphene compound, and thus the graphene compound does not hinder the transfer of lithium ions between the positive electrode and the negative electrode in charging or discharging.

Abstract: A semiconductor device that inhibits deterioration of a secondary battery is provided. The semiconductor device includes a secondary battery module and a first circuit. The secondary battery module includes a secondary battery and a sensor. The first circuit includes a variable resistor. The sensor has a function of measuring a temperature of the secondary battery. The first circuit has a function of judging the charge voltage of the secondary battery and outputting a first result; a function of judging the temperature of the secondary battery measured by the sensor and outputting a second result; a function of determining the magnitude of the variable resistor on the basis of the first result and the second result; a function of discharging the charge voltage through the variable resistor; and a function of stopping discharge when the charge voltage reaches a specified voltage.

Abstract: Part of an electrode, specifically a current collector and an active material layer, for a secondary battery is subjected to cutting processing to have a complex shape. For example, a stack of the first current collector and the first active material layer has a first slit and a second slit. Each of the first slit and the second slit passing across the first current collector and the first active material layer and extending from an edge of the first current collector. Another stack of the second current collector and the second active material layer has a third slit and a fourth slit. Each of the third slit and the fourth slit passing across the second current collector and the second active material layer and extending from an edge of the second current collector.

Abstract: An object is to predict a deterioration state of a secondary battery even in an environment where temperature and a charging voltage change. A lifetime estimation device of the secondary battery includes a measuring unit for measuring the capacity of the secondary battery in the full charging state; a temperature sensing unit for sensing the ambient temperature of the secondary battery; and a storage unit for storing a table of a proportional coefficient corresponding to temperature in advance, and a predicted deterioration line of the secondary battery is calculated with the use of a nonlinear regression equation approximated to a measured deterioration line obtained by the measuring unit. The lifetime estimation device may construct a lifetime estimation system with the use of a neural network.

Abstract: A secondary battery suitable for a portable information terminal or a wearable device is provided. An electronic device having a novel structure which can have various forms and a secondary battery that fits the forms of the electronic device are provided. In the secondary battery, sealing is performed using a film provided with depressions or projections that ease stress on the film due to application of external force. A pattern of depressions or projections is formed on the film by pressing, e.g., embossing.
