摘要： A semiconductor sensor chip such as an acceleration sensor chip and other electronic components such as controlling semiconductor chips are mounted on and connected to conductor patterns formed on a ceramic package. The ceramic package is heated together with a cap to hermetically seal the ceramic package containing the sensor chip and electronic components therein. The conductor pattern formed on the ceramic package is composed of a base film of, i.e., tungsten, an intermediate film of nickel plated on the base film and a thin surface film of gold which is formed on the intermediate film by flash plating. The conductor patterns are also formed at outside portions of the ceramic package. The ceramic package is mounted on a printed board by soldering at portions where the conductor patterns are formed. Though the surface gold film is thin and made at a low cost, it provides an excellent surface of the conductor patterns for securing a good solder wettability and bonding quality.

摘要： The present invention provides a magnetic recording medium wherein the surface layer of the protective film of the medium is irradiated by ions to give a protective film having high reliability in resistance to sliding with the magnetic head, a process for producing the medium, an apparatus for producing the medium, and a magnetic recording apparatus having the medium mounted therein. The essentials of the present invention lie in introducing a minute surface roughness of atomic order in the surface of the protective film 5 constituting the outermost layer of a magnetic recording medium by irradiating atoms accelerated by high voltage (that is, by implanting ions) to the surface.

摘要： Disclosed is a liquid crystal display comprising a liquid crystal layer, a pair of substrates holding the liquid crystal layer therebetween and having two sets of crossed electrodes formed thereon, a pair of crossed polarizers provided outside the substrates and having polarization axes parallel to the electrodes respectively, and an orientation means for making the liquid crystal molecules orient to the intermediate direction of the crossed polarizers at the commencement of voltage application. The orientation means is selected form pretilt, fringe electric field, combinations thereof, etc. In the beginning of voltage application, no leakage light is generated even if the liquid crystal molecules are tilted by a fringe electric field in the vicinity of the edges of the electrodes.
