Abstract:
Systems and methods of remanufacturing an imaging cartridge including the replacement an organic photo conductor (OPC) drum in the imaging cartridge having end caps which are fixedly secured to the waste bin or other portion of the toner cartridge. In one aspect, the method involves removing the existing OPC drum without detaching the end caps and installing a replacement OPC drum without disturbing the end caps.
Abstract:
A method of remanufacturing an imaging cartridge comprising toner hopper not including a toner hopper access port comprises forming an access hole in a surface of the toner hopper, inserting toner into the toner hopper through the access hole, and adhering a hopper cap over the access hole to seal the access hole, the hopper cap comprising apparatus for facilitating removal of the hopper cap.
Abstract:
A non-aqueous ink jet ink for printing lithographic printing plates. The formulation provides for ink jet printing using a solvent based ink in a drop on demand printer. The ink exhibits excellent physical properties and good stability over a range of times and temperatures.
Abstract:
Polymer slurries of ultrahigh molecular weight polyalpha-olefins are made stable toward settling, separation and agglomeration by surface treatment with a combination of wax and optional relatively high-density particulates. The selection of the surface coating acts not only as an anti-blocking agent, or partitioning aid to keep the tacky polymer particles separated, but also provides the suspended polymer particle with a density that matches the carrier. This prevents separation of the slurry components over time. Such materials, ultimately used as pipeline additives to reduce the fluid drag and increase the volumetric throughput, can be stored and shipped for extended periods of time without degradation of the slurry quality. Upon injection into the pipeline, the polymer particle dissolves quickly, unhindered by the coating.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing a sealing arrangement in an X-ray tube are provided. The X-ray tube includes a rotating portion having a plurality of ball bearings and a liquid metal within a housing having the ball bearings therein. The rotating portion is configured to rotate an anode. The X-ray tube further includes a sealing portion formed by a liquid metal vacuum interface configured in a radial direction to resist flow of liquid metal from the housing to a vacuum portion.
Abstract:
A method for treating hard water comprising the steps of flowing water containing suspended colloidal mineral particles through a confined treatment zone, applying an electrical potential across the flowing water to cause electrical current to flow through the water, increasing the zeta potential of the suspended colloidal particles. The increased zeta potential causes the particles to repel each other, preventing aggregation and precipitation onto surfaces in contact with the water to form scale or create hard pan conditions in soil on which the water falls.
Abstract:
A method of mixing viscous fluids is disclosed. The method comprises rotating a mixing apparatus (20) in a container (42) of fluid (44). The mixing apparatus comprises a cage (21) located at the end of the shaft (22). The cage (21) comprises a central circular disc (24) with an outer edge (43) and top (38) and bottom (40) sides. A number of vanes (26) extending from each side of the disc (24), the vanes (26) spacedly located near the outer edge of the plate. The free ends of the vanes (26) are connected by a hoop (38,40) to maintain their spaced relationship.
Abstract:
An automatic transmission having a multiple ratio gearset arranged in series with an overdrive gearset wherein ratio upshifts and downshifts are effected by separate reaction brakes for each gearset, each brake being independently controlled to achieve an enhancement of shift quality using closed loop control of reaction brake pressure and high ratio clutch pressure as a function of turbine speed, output shaft speed, brake drum speed for the multiple ratio gearset and input shaft speed in establishing control of upshifts and downshifts.
Abstract:
An overhead monorail transports racks, in which individual generally flat planar workpieces are suspended, along a path which may provide for several discrete processes in the production line of the circuit boards, and which path includes horizontal linear portion defined in a receptacle adapted to contain an electrolytic solution through which solution the racks and workpieces move between opposed insoluble electrode grills. A pressure manifold is provided at the bottom of the electroplating tank and upstanding nozzle defining towers are adapted to spray electrolyte from immediately behind the above mentioned insoluble electrode grills to continuously impinge upon the surfaces of the circuit board as the boards pass downstream through the tank. Metal to be plated is stored in receptacles behind the pressure manifold nozzle defining towers and the workpiece racks and anode baskets are coupled to a primary source of electrical power such as a rectifier. The workpiece racks and both of the insoluble anode grills are connected to a secondary or auxiliary power source to permit varying the outputs of both rectifiers independently of one another to achieve optimum current densities along the path of movement for these workpieces.
