摘要： An apparatus for image processing which determines such attributes as screen halftone area, character area and continuous tone area that appear in image data. A wavelet transform circuit wavelet transforms values of picture elements within a reference block selected from an image. Absolute value calculation circuits and adders calculate characteristic values representing characteristics of said reference block for every spatial frequency band on the basis of results of wavelet transform. And a determination circuit determines an attribute of notice area made up of one or a plurality of picture elements within the reference block on the basis of the characteristic values of the reference block.

摘要： The present invention pertains to an STB (100) used by being connected to a printer (200) and a content distributing apparatus (21) that receives an order for consumables (223a-223c) used by the printer (200). The STB (100) includes the following: a communication I/F unit (103) for obtaining a content with which a point value is associated; a job management unit (106b) which outputs the obtained content so as to allow the printer (200) to print it, and also accumulates the point value associated with the content; a point accumulation unit (109); a printer I/F unit (107); and an ordering control unit (106a) for transmitting, to the content distributing apparatus (21), a notification for ordering consumables, together with the accumulated point value. The content distributing apparatus (21) receives the order for the consumables from the STB (100), and performs charging processing of reducing the price of the consumables by the amount equivalent to the point value transmitted together with the order.

摘要： A class configuration generation unit generates (n−1) number of class configurations each of which is comprised of i number of the already selected features plus a feature selected from the remaining (n−i) number of the features (both of n and i are integers). A class configuration selection unit selects an optimal class configuration from the (n−i) number of the class configurations using an arbitrary evaluation value. The features used in the class configuration selected by the selection unit are used as the already selected features in the generation unit. The operations by the generation unit and the selection unit are repeated ID with values of i sequentially varying from 0 to r−1, thereby generating a class configuration comprised of r number of the features.

摘要： A sheet conveying apparatus permits keeping predetermined sheet intervals, even when sheet conveyance is temporarily discontinued and then resumed, after resumption of conveyance. The sheet conveying apparatus has a first roller which feeds sheets at predetermined sheet intervals, and a second roller which conveys a plurality of sheet fed from the first roller. After temporarily discontinuing conveyance of the plurality of sheets, conveyance of the plurality of sheets is resumed by use of the first roller and the second roller. The variation in the sheet interval caused when temporarily discontinuing sheet conveyance is corrected upon resumption of sheet conveyance.

摘要： An LED classification device classifies LEDs, the LEDs each including a combination of an LED element that emits a primary light and a phosphor that, upon excitation by the primary light, emits a secondary light having a longer wavelength than the primary light, the LEDs each emitting a combined light of the primary light and the secondary light, those ones of the LEDs whose primary lights having their chromaticities falling within a predetermined chromaticity range being classified as LEDs for use in a backlight of a liquid crystal display apparatus. The LED classification device calculates, for all of the LEDs to be classified, correction values for the chromaticities as obtained on the assumption that the primary lights have traveled through a color filter of the liquid crystal display apparatus, and correct chromaticities by subtracting the correction values from chromaticities obtained for all of the LEDs to be classified, respectively.
