    摘要: A prophylactic device adapted to be worn on a penis. The device includes a bottle-shaped, tubular sheath open at both ends and an elastic band attached along one of the ends of the sheath for securing the sheath to the glans of the penis. The tubular sheath is operable to prevent constant contact between clothing and the glans of the penis while, at the same time, permitting normal micturition functions. The band is relatively thick and wide to form a roll-preventing perimeter and further includes raised, generally longitudinally extending ribs arranged about the outer surface of the band for preventing the band from rolling up. In an alternative embodiment, the sheath includes an inner layer and an outer layer defining a region therebetween for receiving a tactile preventing substance. This region may include a series of parallel baffles along its inner surface for slowing the flow of the tactile preventing liquid.

    摘要: An artificial muscle includes a housing including an electrode region and an expandable liquid region and a dielectric liquid housed within the housing. The artificial muscle further includes an electrode pair positioned in the electrode region of the housing, the electrode pair comprising a first electrode and a second electrode, wherein the electrode pair is configured to actuate between a non-actuated state and an actuated state such that actuation from the non-actuated state to the actuated state directs the dielectric liquid into the expandable liquid region, expanding the expandable liquid region. The artificial muscle also includes a composite electrical insulating layered structure in contact with at least one of the first electrode or the second electrode, wherein the composite electrical insulating layered structure that includes an electrical insulator layer surrounded by adhesive surfaces. The adhesive surfaces are located between one or more flexible electrical insulators.

    摘要: The device (1) takes up the basic structure and operation of the McKibben type artificial muscles and similar, in which is provided a hollow cylindrical chamber (2), of resilient material, which is inflated in the active phase (K). The chamber (2) interacts with a braided sleeve (3), consisting of threads (31, 32), almost inextensible, arranged in crossed helical paths having a characteristic angle of inclination β with respect to the longitudinal axis (X) of the device (1). The sleeve (3) is connected at the ends with two rigid head members (4A, 4B) provided to be mechanically connected to external bodies. The invention provides adjusting means (5), associated to said rigid head members (4A, 4B) adapted to vary their distance (D) at rest, so as to require a proportional and consistent change in the angle of inclination β: if the latter is exactly 54.7°, the device (1), in the active phase (K) stiffens without dimensional changes, if the angle β is greater an axial extension is obtained, if the angle β is smaller an axial contraction is obtained.
