    摘要: Damping device (30) for hinges (10) for the pivotable articulation of door leaves (12) or door flaps on the carcass of pieces of furniture, in which the hinge has respectively a supporting wall mounting part (18) which can be fixed on the supporting wall (14) and a door leaf mounting part (24) which is pivotably coupled via a linkage mechanism (20; 22) to the supporting wall mounting part and can be fixed on the inner face of the door leaf or flap, and which is preferably constructed as a cup part which is countersunk and engages in a recess in the door leaf or flap and has a laterally projecting fixing flange which bears on the inner face of the door leaf. The damping device (30) has a damper housing which is provided on the door leaf mounting part (24) and which is provided in the cavity thereof with a fluid or gaseous damping medium and a resistance element which is movable relative to the damping medium and is coupled to an actuating element (39) which extends out of the housing. At least during part of the pivoting movement of the mounting parts (18, 24) relative to one another the actuating element is in engaged connection directly or indirectly with the supporting wall mounting part (18) and transmits to the resistance element the relative movement of the mounting parts as they pivot. The damper housing (32) is a separate component which is provided with laterally projecting fixing flanges (38, 46) which can be fixed on the fixing flanges of the door leaf mounting part (24).

    摘要: This invention relates to a kit for reinforcing door hinges and, more specifically, to a two-piece kit for strengthening door hinges that may have come loose. The kit comprises a two-piece hinge repair kit that is adapted for use with standard size doors and with standard size hinges. The first piece of the kit is a rectangular U-shaped bracket having an open side or face. This U-shaped bracket is adapted to fit through its open side around the edge of the door. The sides and roof of this U-shaped structure have apertures to be used as connecting holes for attachment to the door and hinge. The roof has a recessed cutout section containing the holes for alignment with the holes of a hinge. The cutout distance down from the top of the roof should approximate the thickness of one leaf of the hinge. Thus, when the hinge is attached to the U-shaped bracket and door, the top surface is level with the face of the bracket and flush with the face of the roof sides adjacent the cutout portion. The vertical sides of the U-shaped bracket extending down from the roof portion contain screw holes for attaching the U-shaped bracket to the side edge portion of a door. This U-shaped mounting bracket is merely slipped over the door with some of its roof apertures aligned with the existing screw holes so that no adjustment or further chipping away of the door edge is required.

    摘要: A mechanical adaptation to a vehicle power window controls is provided that require less hand/finger coordination and less force to actuate, therefore becoming useful for persons with limited control of their hands (e.g., arthritis, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and spinal cord injury, among others). A power window control includes four levers, one on each control switch. Two of the levers are long and the other two are shorter. The long levers are provided on the two switches further away from the user (which control the front and rear left side windows). The short levers are attached to the two switches closer to the user (which control the front and rear right side windows). The base of each lever can be attached to the corresponding switch through a heavy-duty double-sided tape, where for flat switches, the lever is attached directly to the switch surface and for contoured switches, an adapter can be provided between the base of the lever and the surface of the power window switch.
