    摘要: A feeding sheave assembly for use at the open end of a conduit into which a wire or cable is to be fed during a wire or cable-pulling operation includes an elongated sleeve portion which is insertable endwise into the open end of the conduit and an abutment plate for abutting the open end of the conduit when the sleeve portion is fully inserted within the conduit. An arrangement is provided for releasably locking the sleeve portion in a stationary relationship with the conduit, and a sheave is rotatably mounted upon the abutment plate so that when the sleeve portion is releasably locked within the open end of the conduit, a wire or cable which is directed into the conduit end during a wire or cable-pulling operation moves across and then off of the peripheral roller surface of the sheave before moving into the conduit end.

    摘要: An oil containment boom recovery apparatus and method is disclosed. The apparatus is comprised of a frame that supports an axle with a pair of vehicle rim and tire combinations mounted in a side by side relationship on the axle at a desired spacing. A motor bracket to support a motor to rotate the axle, and thus the rim and tire combinations is provided. To recover a containment boom, a user will grab and lift an end segment of a boom and place it between the rim and tire combinations that are mounted on the axle. When the axle is turned by the motor, the boom will be gripped by and between the rotating tires as the tires and axle turn.

    摘要: A mounting assembly is provided for mounting a sheave roller to a ladder-type cable tray. The cable cables can be laid on the cable tray for routing through a building. The mounting assembly includes first and second housing parts which are moveable relative to each other. The housing parts are attached to respective rungs of the cable tray. A lock prevents the relative movement of the housing parts relative to each other once the mounting assembly is engaged with the cable tray. The sheave roller is rotatably attached to the one housing part. This quickly and easily installs the sheave roller on the cable tray.

    摘要: An anti-snag guiding device for a hose, cable or other flexible longitudinal element, designed to prevent such flexible longitudinal element, when laid across a floor or other surface, from becoming trapped or snagged by a wheel of a vehicle or with platform lifts or other types of tools existing in the work place. The anti-snag guiding device incorporates a rigid body made of a single piece of plastic, metal or equivalent material, having a wedge-shaped configuration with a curved profile allowing it to be inserted into the space between the wheel and the floor. The bottom side of the device is flat with a base made of rubber or other elastic material to provide a support element against the floor. The perimeter side surface of the body of the device has a curved-concave cross-section profile against which the flexible longitudinal element rests and slides.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a three-dimensional preform for a structural component made of a fiber composite material includes simultaneously laying a plurality of dry fibers on a workpiece carrier having a contour that corresponds to an intended three-dimensional shape of the perform and then fixing the fibers on an edge of the workpiece carrier. These steps are repeated in accordance with a predetermined fiber laying pattern until the three-dimensional perform has been completely formed. In addition, between each repetition, the fibers are cut beyond a segment of the fibers fixed on the edge of the workpiece carrier. After the three-dimensional preform has been completely formed, the three-dimensional preform is removed from the workpiece carrier and transferred to a subsequent manufacturing step. An apparatus configured to perform this method is also disclosed.

    摘要: A multi-roll segment package provides a method of winding a single length of plastic tape on a plurality of closely spaced roll segments. The roll segments are wound on a core with the length of tape continuous from the inner diameter of the first roll segment to the segment outer diameter of the last roll segment. Tape protectors made of a stiff web material enclose a portion of the lengths of tape between segment outer diameters to the next sequential segment inner diameter. The tape protectors stabilize the tape as it is turned or folded to the core of the next sequential roll segment position.
