Abstract: A data transmission method including sending, by a base station, request information, an identifier of a wireless local area network (WLAN) access point (AP), and a first Internet Protocol (IP) address of the base station to user equipment, receiving, by the base station, a second IP address assigned by the WLAN AP to the user equipment and confirmation information that are sent by the user equipment, and performing, by the base station, multi-stream aggregation data transmission to the user equipment using the WLAN AP and through the IP tunnel, where the IP tunnel is determined using the first IP address and the second IP address.

Abstract: A base station, a processor thereof, and a communication control method thereof receive a notification from a first user terminal before starting direct device to device (D2D) communication, the notification indicating a desire for performing D2D communication, receive a measurement report including results of measurement of a cell reference signal from the first user terminal, and based on the measurement report, determine to cause the first user terminal to perform D2D communication, perform a process for starting the D2D communication between the first and second user terminals, receive a first data amount notification indicating an amount of first data to be transmitted from the first user terminal to the second user terminal, and based on the first data amount notification, allocate first radio resources to the first user terminal, where the allocated first radio resources are used by the first user terminal to transmit the first data.

Abstract: Examples are disclosed for sending or receiving channel state information (CSI) reports associated with coordinated multi-point (CoMP) schemes. The examples include user equipment (UE) constraining CSI feedback to one or more transmission points implementing a CoMP scheme with the UE. The examples also include a transmission point such as an evolved node B (eNB) triggering CSI feedback and receiving a CSI report in response to the trigger. The CSI report generated based on the UE constraining CSI feedback. Constraining CSI feedback may include the UE generating fewer CSI reports, reusing information between CSI reports or increasing an amount of time allowed for processing and generating CSI reports. Other examples are described and claimed.

The processor is also configured to delay for a longer predetermined delay determined based on a predetermined long delay less a total duration of preceding failed connection attempts, responsive to another failed connection attempt after failures for the first number of attempts, and repeat the attempt and delay steps until a connection is established.

Abstract: A taxi or other vehicle summoned by someone who needs a ride can be remotely controlled to announce its presence by the person who summoned the taxi or other vehicle. Using a cell phone, a user establishes a wireless communications link between his or her cell phone and a cell phone in the taxi or other vehicle. A second wireless link between the taxi-located cell phone and the vehicle's control bus enables commands to be sent to the vehicle's horn, lights and other annunciators from the user's cell phone. Images of the requesting user can also be sent to the taxi-located cell phone.

Abstract: Systems and processes that may be implemented to maintain an up-to-date communication bridge between an Internet-of-Things (IoT) physical network and a cellular telecom network are described herein. The systems and processes may eliminate an incompatibility of a hub device with physical layer technologies (PLTs), e.g. 4G or 5G technology, or various IoT protocols. The hub device may include one or more FPGAs that are configured to facilitate communication using one or more PLTs and/or IoT protocols. The hub device may receive information corresponding to different PLTs and/or IoT protocols, e.g. that the hub device is currently incompatible with, and may reprogram one or more of the FPGAs based on this information to eliminate such incompatibilities.

Abstract: An Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) communication network controls Device-to-Device (D2D) scheduling. The OFDM access point wirelessly exchanges wireless communications with a plurality of individual User Equipment (UEs) using scheduled UE resources in a shared resource range. The OFDM access point wirelessly receives a first D2D communication request for a first D2D UE and responsively schedules D2D resources for the first D2D communication request in the shared resource range. The OFDM access point detects D2D interference for one of the plurality of individual UEs and determines that the D2D interference exceeds a D2D interference threshold. The OFDM access point wirelessly receives a second D2D communication request for a second D2D UE and responsively schedules D2D resources for the second D2D communication request in a D2D dedicated resource sub-range.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems to facilitate variation of timer duration. In particular, a relay node (RN) may be configured to be served by a base station (BS) over a relay backhaul air interface and may be configured to serve user equipment devices (UEs) over a relay coverage air interface. Also, the RN may be configured (i) to detect when a threshold error in communication occurs on the relay backhaul air interface, (ii) in response to detecting the threshold error in communication, to start a timer that runs for a timer duration, and (iii) to respond to expiration of the timer duration by engaging in management of the relay backhaul air interface. With these arrangements, the RN may determine a count of how many UEs are being served by the RN over the relay coverage air interface and may set the timer duration based on the determined count of UEs.
