A process for producing a styrenic polymer suitable for making molded products which has excellent quality without a decrease in the productivity. The process comprises feeding a compound consisting essentially of a styrenic monomer to 2 to 6 units of reactors connected in series and carrying out a bulk polymerization at a reaction temperature of 90.degree. to 200.degree. This invention relates to a process for the catalytic grafting of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer onto a copolymer in the presence of a catalyst. The monomer is selected from the group consisting of ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids, anhydrides esters and other derivatives thereof. The copolymer is selected from the group consisting of certain copolymers of ethylene and ionomers of such copolymers. The catalyst is a mixture of (a) a certain amount of water and (b) at least one of certain phosphorus-containing compounds. The process comprises admixing copolymer, monomer, catalyst and an organic peroxide at a temperature above the melting point of the copolymer for a period of time so as to obtain a uniform distribution of monomer, catalyst and peroxide in the copolymer. The resultant grafted copolymer has improved color, and is useful in adhesive systems and as a compatibilizer for polymers and other materials.

An improved process is provided for preparing stable low viscosity polymer-polyols containing less than about 100 ppm residual monomers by using a monoperoxycarbonate initiator in combination with at least one initiator selected from diperoxyketals and peroxyesters, as chaser catalysts, at or near the end of the polymerization. The polymer-polyols prepared by the instant invention can be used to prepare high resiliency (load bearing) polyurethane foams.
