摘要: An improved threaded connection for joining tubulars for oil and gas field operations forms connected tubular strings. The improved threaded connection includes a one piece coupling comprising a body with an outer surface an inner surface and a central axis, a first tapered edge, a second tapered edge, first and second bearing faces for supporting load, weight, or both of the connected tubulars, a plurality of torque stops, and radial metal to metal seal surfaces. As the inner surface of the body is swaged onto each tubular, the inner surface of the body deflects away from the central axis, providing a plurality of bands of high contact pressure at each metal to metal seal between the inner surface of the body and each connected tubular to sustain seal pressures at the threaded one piece coupling.

The center region has a greater thickness than the edge region. The method includes inserting one or more optic fibers into the polymer material.

摘要: Mitigating corrosion and surface scale formation in a sour gas well includes providing an oil-based liquid to a sour gas well having carbon steel tubing with iron sulfide on a surface of the carbon steel tubing, contacting the carbon steel tubing with the oil-based liquid, and adsorbing a first portion of the oil-based liquid onto the iron sulfide, thereby yielding a hydrophobic coating on the carbon steel tubing.

摘要: A process comprising: placing a boronizing powder composition in the interior of a metal pipe comprising a first end, a second end, an inside surface and an outside surface; heating the pipe in a vessel having an interior, to a temperature from 1400° F. to 1900° F., thereby forming spent boronizing reaction gases and a borided layer on the inside surface, wherein the vessel interior has an atmosphere that surrounds the outside surface of the metal pipe; and flowing the spent boronizing reaction gases into the atmosphere surrounding the outside surface of the pipe, thereby forming an oxygen-depleted atmosphere.

摘要: Methods and systems for cleaning, coating and sealing leaks in existing nonmetal pipes, in a single operation. A nonmetal piping system can be cleaned in one pass by dry particulates forced and pulled by air throughout the piping system by a generator and a vacuum. Nonmetal pipes with nonmetal fittings or nonmetal pipes with metal fittings or nonmetal pipes with a combination of metal and nonmetal fittings can be protected from wear by water erosion and rupturing, extending the life of pipes made of a nonmetal material selected from at least one of plastics, PVC (polyvinyl chloride), composite materials, or polybutylene. Coatings can be applied to nonmetal pipes having diameters up to approximately 6″. Leak sealants of at least approximately 4 mils thick can cover insides of nonmetal pipes, and can include novel mixtures of fillers and epoxy materials, and viscosity levels. A positive pressure can be maintained within the nonmetal pipes during applications. Piping systems can be returned to service within approximately 96 hours.

摘要: Methods and systems for providing cleaning and providing barrier coatings to interior wall surfaces of small diameter nonmetal and composite piping systems in buildings, swimming pools, underground pipes, in-slab piping systems, piping under driveways and various liquid transmission lines. An entire piping system can be cleaned in one single pass by dry particulates forced by air throughout the building piping system by an external generator, and the entire piping system can be coated in one single pass by a machine connected exterior to the piping system. Small pipes can be protected by the effects of water corrosion, erosion and electrolysis, extending the life of piping systems such as plastics, PVC (polyvinyl chloride), composite materials, polybutylene. Coatings can be applied to pipes having diameters of approximately ⅜″ up to approximately 6″ so that entire piping systems such as potable water lines, natural gas lines, HVAC piping systems, drain lines, and fire sprinkler systems in single-family homes to apartments to high-rise hotel/resort facilities and office towers, apartment and condominium buildings and schools, can be cleaned and coated to pipes within existing walls. The coating forms at least a 4 mils or greater covering inside of pipes. Buildings can return to service within approximately 24 to approximately 96 hours.
