    摘要: A system and method for assessing and potentially correcting for non-translational motion in a resonance measurement apparatus is provided. The design measures the response of an article, such as an HGA assembly including a read/write head, as well as the excitation of a shaking device, such as a head resonance tester, and computes a correction factor using either two or three point measurement. The correction factor may be evaluated by subjecting the arrangement to further vibration at varying frequencies. Measurement of the shaking device may be accomplished using an accelerometer or by optical measurement using a light beam.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for detecting mechanical problems in machinery used in a process. A model of the process is developed using a modeling technique such as advanced pattern recognition and the model is used to generate predicted values for a predetermined number of the operating parameters of the process and vibration parameters of the machinery. Statistical process control methods are used to determine if the difference between the predicted and actual measured values for one or more of the parameters exceeds a configured statistical limit. A rule set is used to indicate an actual or probable fault in the machinery.

    摘要: A method and system for remotely inspecting the integrity of a structure. This can be performed by a method creating a vibratory response in the structure from a remote location and then measuring the vibratory response of the structure remotely. Alternatively, this can be performed by a system for remotely measuring the integrity of a structure using a vehicle and an artificial neural network, where the vehicle is equipped with a vibratory response device. The vibratory response can be produced by infrasonic and audio frequencies that can be produced by at least a vehicle, motor, or sound recording. The vibratory response can be measured with a laser vibrometer or an audio recording device.

    摘要: Plural testing stations are provided for simultaneously testing plural refrigeration systems and include resistive heaters for applying heat to selected portions of the refrigeration systems and include monitoring and control devices and a data acquisition and control system which are connected to a programmable monitoring and controlling computer system. The monitoring and control devices include temperature sensors attached to portions of refrigeration systems and include control devices for controlling the resistive heaters and the refrigeration systems. As a result, simultaneous testing of a plurality of testing stations is automated. The programmable monitoring and controlling computer system collects measurement data and compares the measurement data to reference data to determine if the refrigeration systems pass or fail the tests.

    摘要: Apparatus is provided for measuring and displaying impact received by fruit and vegetables during processing. An impact measuring module, having the approximate configuration of an individual fruit or vegetable article, incorporates impact measuring means and data transmitting means. The module is adapted for emplacement within a batch of fruit or vegetables, and as it experiences impact or movement, electrical impulses are transmitted to a remote receiving unit. The receiving unit incorporates data display means to visually display the impact data stream. The receiving unit may also incorporate data recording means and event marker means to permit a user to correlate visually observed events within the processing operation with the data stream recorded by the receiving unit. The data stream may be recorded within the receiving unit, for downloading into a computer.
