Pellet grills including a control system that implements, manages, and/or controls various ignition-based protocols are disclosed. An example pellet grill includes a cooking chamber, a burn pot, an ignitor, and a controller. The ignitor extends into the burn pot and is configured to ignite pellet fuel located within the burn pot. The controller is configured to detect a temperature pattern of the cooking chamber corresponding to a flame out condition of the burn pot. The controller is further configured, in response to detecting the temperature pattern, to command the ignitor to activate during a first duration. The controller is further configured to determine, following expiration of the first duration, whether a temperature of the cooking chamber increased during the first duration. The controller is further configured, in response to determining that the temperature has not increased during the first duration, to command the ignitor to activate during a second duration.

The machine tool has an operating point dependent machine cycle time and an operating point dependent power demand. The machine tool system has at least two machine tools and has a system cycle time, and the machine cycle time is shorter than the system cycle time. The method includes determining the energy-efficient operating point in accordance with a machine cycle time dependent characteristic energy demand function of the machine tool. The characteristic energy demand function represents a machine cycle time dependent energy demand of the machine tool over the system cycle time. A corresponding device and a machine tool system are also described.

Additionally, the counting mechanism includes a sensor, a triggering mechanism, and a counter display. The sensor detects when the mold has been closed and then communicates such with the triggering mechanism. The triggering mechanism then triggers the counter display to increase or decrease by the number of units associated with the closing of the mold.

A system is provided to enable communication between a plurality of terminal devices and a central device connected thereto. The central device includes a communicating element which takes initiative and performs communication with a plurality of terminal devices in a predetermined order by scanning the same and also detects any abnormality of a terminal device in communication therewith. An abnormal terminal table is provided in the system for registering any abnormality of any of the terminal devices. The system contains an element for checking whether an abnormality is registered for a particular one of the terminal devices by reference to the abnormal terminal table. Communication is established with that particular terminal device, the checking element then generating a corresponding output. A control element is provided responsive to the output of the checking element to cause communication processing with that particular terminal device when no abnormality is registered. The control element also causes the checking element to check the next terminal device for abnormality registration when any abnormality is registered, a registering element also being provided to register any detected abnormalities in the abnormal terminal table. In one aspect of this invention, the central device also includes a display unit for displaying data pertaining to a terminal device detected as having an abnormality.
