Abstract:
A deer-stand and deer-carrier rack for an ATV enables a hunter to transport a deer-stand and to easily transport a deer using an ATV. U-clamps and adjustable attaching bars attach a deer-carrier rack to the rear of an ATV. The essentially rectangular frame of the deer-stand rack has a rearwardly facing oblique pair of arms and a pair of frontwardly facing L-shaped brackets. The rearwardly facing arms can carry a deer stand while the frontwardly facing L-shaped bracket holders can carrier different types of hunting gear. A deer carrier is also adjustably attachable to the front carrier of an ATV. The deer carrier has a rectangular frame, which is attached to the carrier of the ATV, and a hinged lower frame that folds down when the deer is to be loaded. The lower hinged frame also has wings to accommodate the deer. Once the deer is loaded onto the lower carrier in the horizontal position, the lower carrier is lifted upwardly to an essentially vertical position. The lower carrier may then be secured to the front of the ATV by straps to enable the ATV and hunter to transport the deer.
Abstract:
An aquaculture reservoir includes water contained by a liner material made from at least one ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer, the liner material being cured with a curing agent and at least one thiazole accelerator and either a dithiocarbamate accelerator or a guanidine accelerator, but is devoid of thiuram accelerators. The liner is non-toxic to aquatic animals grown in the aquaculture reservoir. The liner is particularly useful for the aquaculture of shrimp and crayfish.
Abstract:
A sample collection and testing system comprises a collection device and a core device. The collection device comprises a main body and a number of interchangeable sampling apparatuses. The core device comprises a sample distributor and a number of independent testing strips that can simultaneously perform different tests on the same sample. Vents are provided to enhance wicking of sample through the test strips. In addition, a sample retention chamber or pocket is provided to maintain an unadulterated portion of the sample for subsequent retesting or confirmatory testing, for instance.
Abstract:
An intelligent network demand control system provides a system and method for controlling demand in an energy delivery system. Various embodiments of the intelligent network demand control system employs a transceiver network with a plurality transceivers coupled to meters and appliances residing at a plurality of customer premises. Control room operators instruct a customer premises (CP) energy management controller to implement a reduction in system demand. A demand reduction control signal is relayed out to a predefined group of transceivers to bring their respective controlled generators on line. The predefined transceivers, identified by their identification codes, are specified in the demand reduction control signal. The actual demand reduction is metered and relayed back to the CP energy management controller. In some embodiments, the total demand reduction is aggregated into a single number and then communicated to the operators.
Abstract:
A system for physical location self awareness in network connected devices comprises a location server acquiring locations of the devices from a real-time location system (RTLS) and an agent running on each of the devices, the agent querying the location server for a location of the device and storing location information for the device on that device. The system may comprise a plurality of RTLSs and a hierarchical server for searching for a location of a device starting from a last known location server outward. A method for providing location self awareness in network connected devices comprises establishing a location server for acquiring a location of the device from an RTLS, executing an agent on the device, instructing the device to send a query to the location server for location information for the device, and storing the location information for the device on the device.
Abstract:
A system and method for interactive wagering from a remote location. The invention may preferably be implemented on a multi-purpose device, and preferably uses a multi-purpose communication means, such that a dedicated terminal and/or dedicated line are not required. Various customizable features may be provided, allowing for user-friendly, interactive wagering and related communications between the remote location and an event location over a network, which may further include content locations and server locations, among others.
Abstract:
A novel system and method for achieving accurate readings of the rotational speed, number of revolutions and direction of rotation of a utility system. More specifically, a system and method for retrofitting existing utility meters with a lightweight tape, having contrasting sections of reflective and non-reflective material applied thereto, which is read by optical sensors as the lightweight tape passes by with the revolutions of the disk of the utility meter. Additionally, the system and method detects unauthorized use of the utility or tampering with the utility meter and its functions.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of data comparison for statistical information content creation which will process and store raw data, compare the processed raw data with historical data and retrieve processed new content aggregated data with the raw data including a plurality of elements on real time statistical information about a sporting event. The invention includes a common computer network and a plurality of client devices connected to the common network. A server system connected to the common network includes a data storage device storing a plurality of databases including a first database and a second database, a memory device storing code for the system, a plurality of client devices coupled to the computer processor and a processor coupled to the data storage device and the memory device, the processor executing code for the system such that the system is operable to (a) receive raw data and convert the raw data into first formatted data (FFD); (b) route the FFD to the first database; (c) compare the FFD with historical data (HD) according to a set of predetermined rules and protocols in order to determine if a condition has been satisfied with the HD located in the second database; and (d) notify the plurality of client devices if the condition has been met and provide the new content aggregated data.
Abstract:
Associative portions of antibody light and heavy chains, especially Fv fragments, are expressed in a transformed organism as a single peptide chain connected by a linking peptide. This is cleaved, possibly while peptide synthesis is incomplete, by an enzyme of the transformed organism which is expressing the single peptide. This ensures production of both chains in equal amounts, but produces them as separate chains which are free to associate and fold.
