Abstract:
A pizza oven is disclosed for cooking pizza or other food items on a barbecue grill. The pizza oven includes a top wall and a sidewall that together define an interior space sized and shaped to receive the food item to be cooked. The top wall includes one or more projections extending from an inner surface of the top wall into the interior space. When the pizza oven is positioned on the grates of a heated grill, heated air from the grill enters the interior space through a gap between the side walls and the food item. The heated air then contacts the one or more projections and passes over the top surface of the food item to cook the food item by convection. The one or more projections are sized and shaped to cause the heated air to move in a rotational pattern in the interior space. The rotational pattern allows the food item to be cooked faster and more evenly.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to synthesizing metal ionic liquids with transition metal coordination cations, where such metal ionic liquids can be used in a flow battery. A cation of a metal ionic liquid includes a transition metal and a ligand coordinated to the transition metal.
Abstract:
A method and a system map a geographic location to a network address. At least one automated process is performed to identify a geographic location for the network address. A determination is made whether the automated process provided satisfactory geographic location information for the network address. If the automated process did not provided satisfactory geographic location information for the network address, then the network address is forwarded for manual resolution.
Abstract:
An entertainment device comprises a display generator arranged to generate for display a representation of an on-line virtual environment, that on-line virtual environment being able to host interactions between a user of the entertainment device and other users of one or more remote entertainment devices, a network communications arrangement operable to receive data representative of the actions of the other users within the on-line virtual environment and to receive data indicative of any supplementary data files interoperable with the on-line virtual environment that are associated with one or more remote entertainment devices of one or more of the other users, a data file searcher operable to search the entertainment device for any supplementary data files indicated by the received data, a data file acquisition arrangement operable to acquire, from a networked device, a copy of a supplementary data file indicated by the received data that was not found on the entertainment device, and a data file integrator operable to incorporate relevant elements of the or each supplementary data file into the representation of the on-line virtual environment.
Abstract:
An intelligent device is provided which includes an housing and an attachment means to attach the housing of the intelligent device to an object. A processor is provided which is housed within the housing, and a movement sensor is coupled to the processor for detecting movement of the object to which the housing of the intelligent device is attached. Further provided is a display means coupled to the processor. The processor of the device is responsive to the sensor detecting movement of the object to reconfigure from a first low-power state to a second working state for a pre-determined period of time, such that during the pre-determined period of time the processor retrieves data and displays said data on the display means. The processor is further operable to revert back to the first low-power state when the pre-determined period of time has expired.
Abstract:
A pharmaceutical composition includes, as an active ingredient, a compound according to formula 1436 as shown in FIG. 1, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. Various pharmaceutical products may be produced including this pharmaceutical composition. Such pharmaceutical products may be used for the treatment of obesity or diabetes. Methods for using the pharmaceutical compositions also are described. In these methods, various diseases are treated or other body functions are activated or inhibited by administering an effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition. For example, diabetes and obesity may be treated by administering an effective amount of the pharmaceutical compositions. Weight gain and growth factor production can be inhibited by administering an effective amount of these pharmaceutical compositions. Appetite can be suppressed by administering an effective amount of the pharmaceutical compositions, and a diuretic effect can be produced.
Abstract:
Methods and systems of maintaining, evaluating, and providing therapy to a lung ex vivo. The methods and systems involve positioning the lung in an ex vivo perfusion circuit; circulating a perfusion fluid through the lung, the fluid entering the lung through a pulmonary artery interface and leaving the lung through a left atrial interface; and ventilating the lung by flowing a ventilation gas through a tracheal interface. Maintaining the lung for extended periods involves causing the lung to rebreath a captive volume of air, and reaching an equilibrium state between the perfusion fluid and the ventilation gas. Evaluating the gas exchange capability of the lung involves deoxygenating the perfusion fluid and measuring a time taken to reoxygenate the perfusion fluid by ventilating the lung with an oxygenation gas.
Abstract:
A safety valve for subsurface disposal equipped with an interfacing element of elastomeric and non-elastomeric components. The components include an elastomeric energizing component and a non-elastomeric seal ring configured to work together in attaining an internal seal sufficient for allowing the valve to remain consistently closed. Indeed, the aid afforded by the interfacing element may allow the valve to remain consistently and effectively closed even in particularly low pressure well environments or those of widely varying temperatures.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided controlling aircraft cabin pressure, and more specifically engine bleed air manifold pressure, during aircraft descent. An aircraft engine bleed air manifold control pressure setpoint is to either a descent pressure setpoint or a cruise pressure setpoint by determining a rotational speed of an aircraft engine component, determining a component speed setpoint value, and determining aircraft vertical speed. The engine bleed air manifold control pressure setpoint is set to the descent pressure setpoint if either the determined rotational speed of the aircraft engine component is below the component speed setpoint value or the aircraft vertical speed is less than a predetermined vertical speed value.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an authentication and/or energy auditing system for a plug-in electric drive vehicle. A first device connects to a first power apparatus and establishes an electrical power path between the first and a remote device. The latter is connectable to a second power apparatus. The authentication system preferably includes a powerline transceiver to receive a request containing an identifier from the remote device over the power path. Control means controls operation of the first device and responds to the request to initiate an authentication process to determine whether or not the remote device is authentic and authorised to exchange power with the first device, and to activate a control switch to electrically connect the first device to the first power apparatus only upon an authentic and authorised determination. The energy auditing system measures energy received by each device in a specified time interval and electrically disconnects the first device from the first power apparatus when a power loss between the respective devices is detected.
