    Abstract: The present invention comprises a system and method for speech verification using an efficient confidence measure, and includes a speech verifier which compares a confidence measure for a recognized word to a predetermined threshold value in order to determine whether the recognized word is valid, where a recognized word corresponds to a word model that produces a highest recognition score. In accordance with the present invention, the foregoing confidence measure may be calculated using the recognition score for the recognized word and a pseudo filler score that may be based upon selected average recognition scores from an N-best list of recognition candidates.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for performing a fast two-dimensional inverse discrete cosine transform (IDCT) in a media processor are disclosed. A processor receives at least one input component representing discrete cosine transform data and combines, in a first stage, the at least one input component with a first set of constants. In a media processor with a partitioned SIMD architecture, the input data and first set of constants may be combined, for example, by multiplying the at least one input component with a first set of constants using a complex multiplication instruction. The output is transposed in a second stage and combined with constants in a third stage.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a receiving apparatus, a receiving method, and a program which are configured to provide application programs to be executed in response to AV content. The receiving apparatus includes: a receiving block; a trigger acquisition block; an application acquisition block; and a control block. The control block acquires trigger information and, on the basis of a command obtained from the acquired trigger information, acquires a data broadcast application from an application server on the Internet or a data broadcast application transmitted as NRT content of an NRT service using a FLUTE session by referencing an FDT identified by an SMT and an NRT-IT. In accordance with a command obtained from the acquired trigger information, the control block controls an operation of the acquired application program. The present technology is applicable to television receivers configured to receive digital television broadcast signals.
