摘要: A plastic thermistor comprising a polyamide composition which comprises 100 wt. parts of a polyamide and 5.3 to 30 wt. parts of zinc iodide, or a polyamide composition which comprises a polyamide, an iodine-containing compound, and a metal oxide such as zinc oxide. Ion carrier properties of a metal iodide greatly increases temperature dependence of impedance, and the metal oxide such as zinc iodide functions as a receptor for iodide ions and prevents the formation of a metal iodide on the surfaces of metal electrodes. Furthermore, a linked cycle can be established that zinc oxide forms zinc iodide and then formed zinc iodide functions to increase the stability of half-wave current passage. Accordingly, the thermal stability of the plastic thermistor is improved for a long time, and the heat resistance stability of temperature sensors or thermosensitive heaters comprising the plastic thermistor is improved greatly.

摘要: An underwater heater for warming water in an aquarium comprises a thermal sensor for sensing temperature of a main heater body and a control unit for controlling operation of the main heater body via reception of a detect signal output from the thermal sensor. In addition to a switch device for opening and closing a power-supply circuit for supplying power to the main heater body, the control unit further comprises a drive circuit, an abnormality-detection circuit, and a memory circuit. Whenever the abnormality-detection circuit detects that the thermal sensor has detected an abnormal temperature, the drive circuit activates the switch device to open itself to cause power supply to the main heater body to be shut off and to simultaneously cause the memory circuit to store the abnormality-detected condition therein. The memory storing condition is reset via a resetting operation effected by pulling a power-supply plug out from a power-outlet socket to enable to main heater body to effect the resetting operation.

摘要: The speed reduction device for the electrically powered foldable rearview mirror includes a two stage speed reduction worm mechanism connecting an electrically powered motor for folding the rearview mirror which is fixed on a frame of a mirror body and a clutch gear engageably and removably mounted on a shaft which stands on a base and on which the mirror body is rotatably mounted. The first stage worm of the speed reduction worm mechanism is a twin gear including a worm screw portion with a coaxial spur gear on an end thereof. The second stage worm is a twin gear including a worm screw portion with a coaxial worm wheel on an end thereof. The spur gear of the first stage worm is engaged with a pinion mounted on an output shaft of the motor but the axis of the worm screw portion of the first stage worm is parallel with the motor output shaft. The worm wheel of the second stage worm engages the worm screw portion of the first stage worm and the worm screw portion of the second stage worm is engaged with the clutch gear. When the electrically powered foldable rearview mirror using the worm mechanism is rotated to the erected state and to the folded state, the thrust reaction on the worms of the speed reduction mechanism is not transmitted to the motor shaft.

摘要: To form an interconnection on a substrate, an interconnection material layer is deposited on a surface of a substrate having a step with a base layer of Ti-base metal disposed between the interconnection material layer and the substrate, and the interconnection material layer is etched by way of dry etching using a fluorine gas until a surface of the base layer is exposed. After the surface of the base layer is exposed, the substrate is heated to a temperature ranging from 250.degree. C. to 600.degree. C., and the interconnection material layer and the base layer are continuously etched by way of dry etching. The process allows an interconnection pattern to be reliably formed on the stepped substrate surface.

摘要: An audio reproduction system for use in an audio amplifier, for example, has a tone control unit for increasing or reducing a gain, or keeping an increased or reduced gain, of a signal if a particular frequency range of an audio signal supplied thereto, and a volume control unit for increasing or reducing the gain of the audio signal in a full effective frequency range. The tone and volume control units are ganged by a gain control unit, so that the gain which has been increased in the particular frequency by the tone control unit, can be controlled depending on the degree to which the gain has been increased by the volume control unit. The tone and volume control units may include variable resistors, respectively, whose movable contacts are interconnected. When the knob of the volume control unit is shifted toward a higher scale level position, the gain of the signal in the particular frequency range is lowered by the tone control unit, thereby preventing the reproduced sound from being distorted. When the knob of the volume control unit is shifted toward a lower scale level position, the gain of the signal in the particular frequency range is increased by the tone control unit.
