摘要: In a planar type plasma discharge display device including first and second electrode groups to display a desired image by plasma discharge produced between the first and second electrode groups, its accuracy may be increased, and its manufacturing may be simplified. A pair of discharge electrode groups comprising a first electrode group and a second electrode group, each formed by arraying a plurality of electrode elements, are arrayed on a common substrate in a two-dimensional fashion. Then, a desired image is displayed by plasma discharge produced between selected electrode elements of the first and second electrode groups. To solve a problem of an ordinary matrix type high-definition display device which is not reliable because an area of a terminal disposed portion is increased by the enormous number of terminals concerning the horizontal direction scanning, a terminal width is reduced or terminals are disposed very close to each other. The display device includes first and second electrode groups. The first electrode group is formed by arraying a plurality of electrode elements X extended in a first direction, and the second electrode group is formed by arraying a plurality of electrode elements Y extended in the direction crossing the first direction. The electrode element Y of the second electrode group forms adjacent four electrode elements into one set, a common terminal is led out from every other electrode elements in each set, and a plasma discharge portion is formed at a portion in which every other electrode elements X of the first electrode groups and corresponding adjacent two electrode elements in each set of the second electrode group cross to each other.

摘要: A gas sensor using oxygen-ion-conductive solid electrolyte layers measures a concentration of a constituent gas such as NOx in a gas mixture such as an exhaust gas mixture of an internal combustion engine. The gas sensor includes a pair of oxygen pumping cells and a sensor cell. Before the constituent gas concentration is measured by the sensor cell, oxygen gas contained in the gas mixture has to be purged because the oxygen gas adversely affects the measurement of the constituent gas concentration. Two pumping cells disposed to face a chamber, into which the gas mixture is introduced, pump out the oxygen gas contained in the gas mixture so that the oxygen concentration is reduced substantially zero. Then, the gas mixture is diffused to the sensor cell where the constituent gas concentration is measured without the adverse influence of the oxygen gas. A marginal ion current which is proportional to the constituent gas concentration is measured by the sensor cell with a high accuracy and sensitivity.

摘要: A gas concentration detector using solid electrolyte layers laminated measures a concentration of gas constituents in measuring gas such as exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine without being influenced by oxygen concentration in the measuring gas. The measuring gas is introduced into an inner cavity of the detector and outside air as a reference gas is introduced into an air passage in the detector. Oxygen concentration in the measuring gas in the inner cavity is maintained at a predetermined level by operation of an oxygen pumping cell constituted by an ion conductive solid electrolyte layer and a pair of electrodes formed on both surfaces of the layer. The oxygen concentration in the inner cavity is measured by an oxygen sensor cell having one electrode exposed to the inner cavity and the other electrode exposed to the reference gas. The concentration of the gas constituents in the measuring gas is measured in terms of ion current generated in a detector cell constituted by an ion conductive solid electrolyte layer and a pair of electrodes formed on both surfaces of the layer, one electrode being exposed to the measuring gas in the inner cavity and the other exposed to the reference gas in the air passage. Either one of the sensor cell and detector cell electrodes exposed to the measuring gas in the inner cavity is made of a material active to the gas constituents to be measured and the other electrode is made of a material inactive thereto.

摘要: A pattern generator generates a color chart which is processed by an image processor and reproduced on a medium by an output device without color correction. Since no color correction is made to the color chart on the medium, the image processing characteristics of the image processor and the output device are reflected in color chart on the medium. The color chart on the medium is read by a reader and converted to color chart read data which is converted to color correction parameters for the output device by a color correction parameter generator. The color correction parameters are stored in a first storage device, and device setting values indicative of characteristics of the output device are stored in a second storage device. When another color image is read by the reader or input by another input device, a color corrector color corrects the color image based on the color correction parameters stored in the first storage device, with the color corrected image then being processed by the image processor, the operational characteristics of which are adjusted in accordance with an operator selected setting value stored in the second storage device. The color corrected and processed image is the output by the output device.

摘要: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus with a failure diagnosis function is provided. A failure diagnosis device determines that the apparats is failed when the temperature rising speed of an adsorbing device is equal to a set value or less during a gas adsorption process and if the temperature rising speed is equal to an upper limit or more or to a lower limit or less during a gas desorption process. Further, a failure diagnosis device similarly monitors the flow passing through the adsorbing device. A failure diagnosis device determines that the apparatus is failed if the concentration of discharge gas is equal to a set value or more in a discharge passage. And further, a failure diagnosis device measures the concentration of discharge gas flowing through a return passage to accumulate the amount of discharge gas in order to determine that the apparatus is failed if the accumulated value is equal to a set value or less. Exhaust gas sensors are installed in the return passage and the upstream side of the adsorbing device, respectively, and the period of time te from the activation of the return passage until the outputs from the exhaust gas sensors match or a correlation coefficient for these outputs is measured to diagnose failures in the apparatus.

摘要: Two flow paths separated by a partition wall having a bore formed downstream of a catalyst unit provided in an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine. Adsorption means for adsorbing an HC component of an exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine is provided in one of the flow paths. When a temperature of the exhaust gas is above a predetermined level, the exhaust gas flows through the other flow path by means of a change-over valve. Because the bore is provided in the partition wall, the adsorption means is exposed to the exhaust gas and the HC component adsorbed by the adsorption means is easily desorbed because of the high temperature of the exhaust gas. A one-way valve which repeatedly performs an opening/closing operation due to pulsation of the exhaust gas, is provided between recirculation flow pipes. A position of the one-way valve between the recirculation flow pipes is determined so that a phase difference between the exhaust gas pulsation applied to the valve from the upstream side of the catalyst unit and the exhaust gas pulsation applied to the valve from the flow path of the adsorption means, inverts substantially by half-wavelength producing a large differential pressure applied to both the front and rear surfaces across the one-way valve, thereby rapidly recirculating the desorbed HC from the adsorption means to the catalyst unit. When the change-over valve is operated to a position shown by a dotted line to flow the exhaust gas through the adsorption means, the flow-in velocity of the exhaust gas flowing into the adsorption means is made uniform by the rectifying plate, thereby improving HC or the like adsorbing efficiency. When the change-over valve is turned to a position shown by a solid line for opening the exhaust gas flow path, so that the exhaust gas flows through the exhaust gas flow path, the rectifying plate prevents vortices from occurring on the upstream side of the adsorption means to thereby keep the once-adsorbed HC or the like from flowing out toward the exhaust gas pipe.
