The resin has a structure of the formula (1), wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a monovalent acid-labile group, an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms which does not have an acid-labile group, or an alkylcarbonyl group having 2-7 carbon atoms which does not have an acid-labile group, X1 represents a linear or branched fluorinated alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms, and R2 represents a hydrogen atom, a linear or branched alkyl group having 1-10 carbon atoms, or a linear or branched fluorinated alkyl group having 1-10 carbon atoms. The resin composition exhibits high transmittance of radiation, high sensitivity, resolution, and pattern shape, and is useful as a chemically amplified resist in producing semiconductors at a high yield.

摘要: A method of fabricating an optical waveguide structure includes the step of introducing light into a photo-curable liquid resin. The liquid resin can be a mixture of two types of photo-curable liquid resins having different curing initiation wavelengths and different refractive indexes. The method can include dipping one end of a fiber into the liquid mixture. Light having a wavelength &lgr;1 can be radiated from the tip end of the optical fiber in order to cure one of the photo-curable liquid resins thereby forming a waveguide. Light having a different wavelength &lgr;2 can be radiated from an area surrounding the waveguide so as to cure the liquid mixture and form a cladding portion around the waveguide.

摘要: A fixing unit has a heating roller for fusing a toner image on a copy sheet thereon, a pressing roller which is rendered in pressing contact with the heating roller while the copy sheet is transported through a clearance defined by the heating roller and the pressing roller, and a control lever which is operative to selectively move the pressing roller toward and away from the heating roller so as to set the fixing unit between a pressing-contact state where the pressing roller is pressed against the heating roller and a released state where the pressing roller is set away from the heating roller. A warning display member bearing information relating to manipulation of the control lever is detachably attached to the control lever in such a manner as to be removable from the control lever by pulling the warning display member generally in the same direction as manipulating the control lever to set the fixing unit to the pressing-contact state.

摘要: A liquid crystal control device can eliminate instability in a light quantity characteristic of a light source occurring when an operating mode of a liquid crystal shutter is changed, thus provide a stable exposure or display, and realize high-quality picture recording. To this end, a timing at which the light source is turned on by a light source controller is delayed with respect to a timing at which a liquid crystal is driven to operate by a liquid crystal driving section.

摘要: A color cathode ray tube includes a generally rectangular shadow mask structure in which a skirt portion of a shadow mask is secured to a support frame. The shadow mask is formed by an apertured portion having a large number of electron beam transmission apertures, an imperforate portion disposed around the entire periphery of the apertured portion, a skirt portion being bent back and drooping from the entire periphery of the imperforate portion, and a support frame including a rectangular frame portion. The skirt portion of the shadow mask is secured to the inside of the rectangular frame portion, and a bent portion of the shadow mask, which defines a transitional region between the imperforate portion, and the skirt portion is formed in a shape where long sides are recessed inwardly and ends of the long sides of the skirt portion come into contact with the frame portion.
