    摘要: A method of fabricating an optical waveguide structure includes the step of introducing light into a photo-curable liquid resin. The liquid resin can be a mixture of two types of photo-curable liquid resins having different curing initiation wavelengths and different refractive indexes. The method can include dipping one end of a fiber into the liquid mixture. Light having a wavelength &lgr;1 can be radiated from the tip end of the optical fiber in order to cure one of the photo-curable liquid resins thereby forming a waveguide. Light having a different wavelength &lgr;2 can be radiated from an area surrounding the waveguide so as to cure the liquid mixture and form a cladding portion around the waveguide.

A first surface and a second surface selectively transmits or reflects light. A first region is formed on the first surface at a location that is relatively near the light source. The first region includes a first inclined face and a second inclined face. The first inclined face reflects light from the light source to guide light to the reflector. The second inclined face reflects light from the light source to the second surface so that the second surface emits light. A second region is formed on the first surface at a location that is relatively far from the light source. The second region includes a third inclined face and a fourth inclined face. The third inclined face reflects light from the light source to the second surface so that the second surface emits light. The fourth inclined face reflects light reflected by the reflector to the second surface so that the second surface emits light.

    摘要: An electronic still camera which transmits taken images to a printer connected to the camera to print the images is provided with a microcomputer for generating image data for printing and communicating with the printer. When start of printing is directed, the microcomputer obtains information on characteristics of the printer from the printer, generates image data whose number of pixels differs between when the printing density is a predetermined value or more and when it is less than the predetermined value, and transmits the image data to the printer. A connector is provided for attaching a cable of the printer to the electronic still camera, and a switch for detecting whether the cable is attached or not is provided in the connector. When the cable is attached to the connector, only transmitting images to the printer to print the images is permitted even if taking of images or reproduction display is directed by a manual operation.
