摘要: A fuel injection pump of the distributor pump type is proposed, in which the fuel quantity is governed with the aid of an annular slide displaceable on the pump piston. The annular slide is shifted by an electromechanical final control element. The shifting is effected via a shaft to which a connecting element is connected with an eccentricity (E); the connecting element is coupled to the annular slide. For balancing the mass of the thus eccentrically articulated annular slide, a counterweight is secured on the shaft.

摘要: In a fuel injection pump, an engine drives a rotary plunger having an axially extending bore connected to a compression chamber, plural fuel inlet ports alignable with an inlet passage for introducing fuel to the compression chamber, fuel distribution ports for distributing the compressed fuel through the bore to each one of the fuel delivery passages and plural spill ports. A spill-port timing control unit is provided comprising a stator core, a coil wound on thereon, a magnetized ring having a spill groove, and a spring for resiliently maintaining the ring in a reference angular position with respect to the stator core. The magnetized ring is mounted on the plunger so that it can rotate from the reference angular position to an angularly displaced position in proportion to the magnetic flux of the coil to align the spill groove of the ring with each spill port of the plunger to create a passageway through which the compressed fuel is allowed to escape at the termination of fuel injection.

摘要: A fuel injection control device suited to use in automotive diesel engines. The device comprises sensors for producing signals upon sensing various states of operation of the engine, including a temperature sensor adapted to produce a temperature signal upon sensing the temperature of a coolant for cooling the engine, a first arithmetic operation means for determining the rate of fuel injection in accordance with the signals delivered by the sensors, and a second arithmetic operation means for determining the timing of fuel injection in accordance with the signals delivered by the sensors. The control device further comprises a first temperature judging means for comparing the coolant temperature signal with a predetermined reference temperature to judge whether the coolant temperature exceeds the reference temperature, an fuel injection rate corrrecting menas for effecting a subtractive correction of the fuel injection rate determined by the first arithmetic operation means, and a timing correcting means for advancing the fuel injection timing determined by the second arithmetic operation means. When the coolant temperature exceeds the reference temperature, the fuel injection rate correcting means and the injection timing correction means operate to decrease the fuel injection rate and to advance the fuel injection timing, respectively.

摘要: To provide for accurate alignment of a housing (10) retaining a fuel injection element (12, 15), and a second housing (23) retaining a control element controlling a function of the fuel injection element, in which the relative positions of the pump housing (10) and of the control element housing (23) are determinative of adjustment and alignment of interengagement between the injection element and the control element, the two housings are provided with attachment screws to attach them securely together, while permitting respective removal, for example for replacement of a sealing gasket (26), and to insure precisely aligned re-assembly, the housings include position locating means (27-34, 35') such as interengaging projection-and-recess means (40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110; 37, 47, 57, 67, 77, 87, 97, 107) which accurately position the housings with respect to each other, and which are positionable after the housings have been first assembled and aligned to provide for said adjusted and aligned interengagement of the injection element and the control element and reestablishment of said aligned position after separation of the housings. The housings may, also, be spot-welded at selected points beyond break-away zones so that, upon breaking away of the spot welds, they can be separated, with subsequent re-alignment based on the break-away zones.

摘要: A fuel injection pump is proposed, based on a fuel injection pump of a known type, which has an adjusting member for determining the injection duration and is provided with a throttle device for determining the effective supply stroke of the pump piston. In accordance with the invention it is proposed that the position of the throttle device be varied by means of a pressure control device, which is controllable by signals of an rpm-dependent electronic control unit. The position of the adjusting member determining the duration of injection remains as constant as possible, while the throttle device adjusts the flowthrough cross section of a connecting line leading from the pump work chamber to a fuel withdrawal chamber in accordance with rpm. Thus it is possible, in particular given the small injection quantities required during idling, to effect a uniformly small injection quantity per unit of time during a relatively long injection duration; this results in a substantial reduction in noise.

摘要: A fuel injection advance angle control member (28) and a fuel control member (52) are manually and simultaneously controllable to increase the fuel injection angle and the volume of fuel injection, before an engine is started. A knob (112) is located in a position accessible for manipulation. A wire (110) connects the knob (112) to cams (102, 82) which are associated with the fuel injection advance angle control member (28) and the fuel control member (52), respectively. The connection between the knob (112) and the cam (102) includes a spring (210, 300) which is yieldable when the knob (112) is pulled, so that a reaction force counteracting the pulling effort is reduced to promote manipulation with a minimum of effort. Upon an engine start, the resilient force accumulated in the spring (210, 300) is released to move the member (28) to a desired advanced angle position through the cam (102).

Furthermore, the fuel injection system includes an electro-fluidic transducer which can be controlled by an electronic control device, the electro-fluidic transducer acting to adjust the desired parameter.

摘要: A diesel engine is provided with a soot particle catcher. When the soot particle catcher is heavy with accumulation of soot, while the engine is operating a combustion chamber thereof is supplied with a purging supply of diesel fuel at a timing point at which heat produced by combustion of this diesel fuel within the combustion chamber is not substantially converted into mechanical work, but is vented to the exhaust system in the exhaust gases substantially completely. Thus the soot catcher is heated up, and is purged by combusting the accumulation of soot particles in it. This timing point may be the later part of the expansion stroke of the piston of the combustion chamber. The amount of this purging fuel supply may be arranged to be just enough completely to use up by combustion all excess oxygen in the combustion chamber at the timing point. Apparatus for performing this method of fuel supply may include first and second fuel injection pumps for supplying the normal type powering fuel injection pulses into the combustion chamber and also for selectively supplying such purging pulses, or may alternatively include a combination fuel injection pump of a novel sort both for supplying such powering pulses and also for selectively supplying such purging pulses.

摘要: A regulating device for the supply quantity of an injection pump for internal combustion engines having an electromagnet system as a component of a fuel quantity final control element is proposed. The fuel quantity final control element effects the controlling position of a control member, which fixes the supply onset or end by the injection pump through the closing or opening, respectively, of a relief conduit of the pump work chamber. The fuel quantity final control element includes a linear magnet, which is operationally connected with the control member. In order to transmit the stroke movement or displacement of the armature of the linear magnet onto the control member, a transmission member is provided which includes a rotatably supported adjusting shaft, a crank and an eccentric. The crank and the eccentric are disposed on opposite ends of the adjusting shaft and protrude in opposite directions from one another.
