    摘要: Methods and apparatus provide for: feeding glass batch material into a plasma containment vessel in such a way that the glass batch material is dispensed as a sheet of glass batch material particles; directing one or more sources of plasma gas into the inner volume of the plasma containment vessel in such a way that the plasma gas enters the plasma containment vessel as at least one sheet of plasma gas; and applying an alternating electric field to facilitate production of a plasma plume within the inner volume of the plasma containment vessel, where the plasma plume is of dimensions sufficient to envelope the sheet of glass batch material particles, and is of sufficient thermal energy to cause the glass batch material to react and melt thereby forming substantially homogeneous, spheroid-shaped glass intermediate particles.

    摘要: As the antireflection film of solar cells, a nitride film was used which was conventionally formed by reduced pressure plasma CVD. However, reducing solar cell production costs has been difficult due to high equipment costs and processing costs involved in reduced pressure treatment. By means of a plasma head comprising multiple plasma head unit members which, arranged in rows, apply an electric or magnetic field via a dielectric member and generate plasma, this CVD film production method forms a nitride film with atmospheric pressure plasma CVD using dielectric-barrier discharge. The dielectric discharge is capable of forming a glow discharge plasma stable even at atmospheric pressure, and, by generating and reacting different plasmas from neighboring plasma outlets, it is possible to form a nitride film in atmospheric pressure, making it possible to produce low-cost solar cells.

    摘要: A plasma torch is formed from a hollow electrode forming a first gap to an isolated plasma tube, the isolated plasma tube forming a second gap with a plasma outlet tube having electrically common plasma tubes which terminate into a plasma outlet. The first gap and second gap of the isolated plasma tubes are fed by a source of plasma gas such that when a voltage is applied across the electrodes, plasmas initially form across the first plasma gap and second plasma gap. The formed plasmas spread laterally until the plasmas are formed entirely from electrode to electrode and self-sustaining. Plasma gasses which are fed to the plasma torch can be metered on both sides of the electrodes to steer the plasma arc attachment axially over the extent of the hollow electrodes, thereby reducing surface wear and increasing electrode life.

The flow directing plate is made of a conducting substrate, having two opposite sides thereof covered by a metallic catalyst coating layer. The invention is practical for use in an air purifier, fluid sterilizer or waste water treatment equipment.
