摘要： A method for thickening a cryogenic slurry is disclosed. The method comprises providing a cryogenic slurry flow path, a cryogenic liquid discharge path, and a filter medium between the cryogenic slurry flow path and the cryogenic liquid discharge path. The cryogenic slurry comprises a solid and a cryogenic liquid. The cryogenic slurry is fed into the cryogenic slurry flow path, generally tangential to the filter medium. This causes a portion of the cryogenic liquid to cross the filter medium into the cryogenic liquid discharge path as a cryogenic liquid discharge and the cryogenic slurry to thicken to produce a thickened slurry. The filter medium comprises a cryogenically-stable material such that adsorption of gases is inhibited, deposition of solids is prevented, and temperature-change induced expansion and contraction of the filter medium is optimized.

摘要： A filter bag assembly for a juice press is assembled from a unitary sheet of fabric and at least one coupling member and/or belt. The fabric sheet is foldable along a transverse fold line and then along left and right fold lines to form a seamless bag having left and right side margins each having four sheet layers. A left coupling member may be arranged to gather at least two of the four sheet layers of the left side margin, and a right coupling member may be arranged to gather at least two of the four sheet layers of the right side margin. Each belt connects the left side margin to the right side margin. Preformed holes in the fabric sheet are positioned to allow the coupling members and belt(s) to be installed to retain the folded bag. The assembled bag is inexpensive and the fabric sheet is replaceable.

The first flow plate is terminally connected to a first end of the tubular portion. A plurality of openings of the first flow plate allows water to enter the tubular portion. The second flow plate is terminally connected to a second end of the tubular portion. A plurality of openings of the second flow plate allows water to exit the tubular portion. The biodegradable filtering material is integrated within the tubular portion so that water entering the tubular portion at the first end is filtered prior to exiting the tubular portion at the second end. Switchgrass is utilized as the biodegradable filtering material.

A novel filtering process includes steps of adjusting extraction rate of waste content by feedback measurement such that a target set-point is maintained. The feedback control is provided by either use of a variable speed motor detecting load change on the auger or sensors correlated to waste content, and displacement type extraction pump The waste filtration system can be used in a closed loop without leaks or open waste. The resulting filtered fluid is suitable for improving performance in heat exchange and recovery arrangements.
