摘要: An observation device includes a microscope. The microscope includes an illumination light beam source, an illumination optical system, and an observation optical system forming an optical image of an observation target from reflected light beams obtained by reflection of illumination light beams by the observation target. The observation optical system includes a phase plate changing the phase of directly reflected light beams reflected on a reflection surface among the reflected light beams. Both the illumination optical system and the observation optical system are arranged under the observation target. The observation device includes an image pickup device photoelectrically converting the optical image obtained by the observation optical system to create image data of the observation target and a display device displaying the image data. The illumination light beam emitted from the illumination optical system is a collimated light beam.

摘要: A foreign matter inspection system that is less likely to misidentify a crack as a foreign matter during an image inspection in which a vibration is applied to a powder contained in a bag-like container. The foreign matter inspection system includes a vibration device configured to apply a vibration to a container, a photography device configured to optically photograph the inside of the container through a transparent area, and a determination device configured to determine whether a foreign matter is present inside the container based on an image of the container photographed by the photography device. The vibration device alternately applies weak vibrations W and strong vibrations S to the container. The determination device determines whether the foreign matter is present inside the container based on the image of the container photographed by the photography device when the vibration device applies the weak vibrations W.

摘要: An inorganic nanoparticle is provided (step A) having the size of the aggregate of the protein misfolding disease. Free amino groups or free carboxyl groups are formed (step B) on the surface of the nanoparticle (for functionalizing the nanoparticle surface into an amine- or carboxy-functionalized nanoparticle. Maleinimido spacer carboxylic acid is bound to the free amino groups in step (B). Or, free carboxyl groups in step (B) are converted into NHS esters. Monomers of the protein aggregate are bound i) to the maleinimido spacer carboxylic acids by way of a sulfhydryl group at the free end of the monomers, or ii) to the NHS esters by way of the amino group at the free end of the monomer. A standard is provided for use in the detection of protein aggregates occurring with protein misfolding diseases.

摘要: A motion learning support apparatus displays a teaching-aid video segment and a segment of practice video of a learner alternately on a monitor, the practice video being of the learner who is imitating a motion of the teaching-aid video segment and being taken with an imaging unit. The motion learning support apparatus includes: motion detection unit to detect a motion of the learner and a motion information acquisition unit; an evaluation unit to evaluate similarity of a motion of the learner to a motion in the teaching-aid video segment; and first learning support processing unit to, when the evaluation unit evaluates that the motions are similar, switch the monitor from video taken with the imaging unit to a following teaching-aid video segment. Thereby, vividness of an image due to the illusion effect induced to the learner can be improved, and so the learning effect can be improved for supporting.

摘要: To prevent a user from accidentally pricking the user with a hollow needle when separating blood components using a syringe and a connection device. A blood component separation apparatus has three syringes and a connection device. The connection device is attached to one syringe and is inserted into other syringes. The connection device has a first member to which a base end of a hollow needle is joined and a second member which is connected to the first member in such a manner as to be able to move relative to the first member. The second member is moved back and forth between a first position where a tip of the hollow needle is accommodated and a second position where the tip of the hollow needle is exposed. The second member has elastic portions which are elastically deformed in the movement from the first position to the second position. The elastically deformed elastic portions elastically energize the second member at the second position to the first position side with respect to the first member.

摘要: Data acquisition and automatic diagnosis is performed at test points by respective wireless monitoring units (WMU). Each WMU tests a first indicator periodically at a first rate to determine whether to test a full set of indicators. Evolution of the first indicator determines the pass/fail result of a reduced assessment of the corresponding test point. The pass/fail result is automatically sent off-site to a central database. When a fail occurs, a full assessment is performed, which includes monitoring the full set of indicators. Automatic diagnosis is performed based on the full set of indicators. The reduced assessment does not include automatic diagnosis of a test point, but is used to decide whether to perform the full assessment and automatic diagnosis. Results of the automatic diagnosis are sent to the central database. Raw data is not sent automatically.
