    摘要: A stave cooler for a furnace that always includes a liquid coolant piping cast inside. A stave cooler body includes a hot face and a backside and a liquid coolant piping cast inside between the hot face and the backside. A single steel collar on the backside of each stave is engineered to support the entire weight of the stave cooler. Any and every external connection of the liquid coolant piping are collected and routed together through the single steel collar. These stave coolers are limited to those mountable only from the inside of steel containment shells provided with a matching penetration. The single steel collar and a cover plate accommodate and provide a gas-tight seal by a continuous welding of the single steel collar to each steel containment shell.

    摘要: A wired kernmantle cord comprises a single continuous length of 20-30 AWG solid, stranded, or braided metal wire coaxially placed in the center of a bundle of seven nylon yarns. The seven yarns each comprise three twisted nylon fibers. The metal wire and the seven yarns thus form a kern that is sheathed inside a woven, braided outer mantle of nylon. The mantle sheathing is woven densely and tightly enough to keep the kern from appearing or working through, and it provides electrical insulation for the metal wire, and weather and abrasion resistance and other environmental protection for the whole.

    摘要: Waistbands and wristbands include separable clasps suitable to join woven Paracord around a user's waist or wrist. Matching clasp pieces are attached to opposite ends of single lengths of woven Paracord and magnetically snap together and hold firm until twisted by the user or pulled apart by excess hauling force applied to the woven Paracord. Side slippage between matching magnetic plates of the clasps are textured with indentations and matching protrusions to control such slipping. In particular, such indentations and matching protrusions are concave and convex oval cones of matching height and base. These cones impart a ramping leverage effect that translates lateral movements into separating forces that both assist a user in dismounting the clasp by twisting and in the predicable and controllable release of the clasp subjected to longitudinal single-vector excess hauling force.

    摘要: A photo-bio-stimulation device uses near infrared (NIR) laser illumination of the scalp to promote hair growth with a lightweight user wearable device. All the remaining components are mounted on the concave underside of an outer cap shell. Many VCSEL laser device chips are surface mount soldered underneath of a single large flexible printed circuit. These discrete devices direct a diffused, near uniform flood of 678-nanometer monochromatic laser light deep into the hair roots and follicles across the scalps of its users. Petal shapes along a central spine are cut deep into the side edges of the flexible printed circuit to allow it to be conformed and fixed into a hemispherical dome and attached with dozens of plastic snaps inside the outer shell. This connects inside to a rechargeable battery and power controller. A protective clear covering matching the concave underside is attached along the brims.

    摘要: A method of land surveying that electronically registers together multi-layer underground and surface images of a surface volume with buried utilities and other infrastructures. Such method further comprises assembling and presenting the combination to a device in the field that visually guides crews in their safe digging of the ground nearby. The orienting, scaling, and registering of a first image layer is to a standardized orientation and scaling on a map of a photograph of a land surface from a zenith point in space above. Then the orienting, scaling, and registering of a second image layer is made to the standardized orientation and scaling on the map. This layer is a result of a ground penetrating radar investigation of buried objects point-by-point in an immediate search area of a corresponding ground surface. Underground buried objects and utilities are thereby located to make safe digging nearby.

    摘要: An underground mine communications upgrade comprises an independent VHF-UHF band to MF band repeater-transceiver translator (RTT) and loop antenna added to a conventional miner's cap-lamp and helmet. VHF/UHF band communications with nearby conventional handsets are translated to medium frequency (MF band) communications that couple mine-wide to copper-core life-lines in all the entries. Such life-lines also do well supporting ultra low frequency (ULF), through-the-earth (TTE) communications with the surface above. Roof mounted borehole MF band ULF RTT's are coupled to the dual-frequency life-lines and bridge the MF band communications on the life-lines with the ULF communications on the life-lines. The MF band radio traffic primarily consists of digital packetswitch communications. Both the cap-lamp and borehole RTT's translate between the types of modulation used on the VHF/UHF band handsets, and also the types of modulation used on the ULF TTE surface communications, with the MF band digital packetswitch communications.

    摘要: Computer modelling methods and foundry methods for copper-nickel coolant pipes cast-in-copper coolers are combined. First, Computational Fluid Dynamics and/or Finite Element Analysis steps verify geometric computer aided design models and materials choices, point-by-point heat distribution, and heat flows. And second, casting steps to commit an acceptable last thickness iteration of a thermal buffer part in simulation to casting it in a foundry. In the foundry, casting conditions are empirically developed to yield all but slight, unclustered bonding imperfections at a concentric diffusion interface of the pipes and surrounding solidified casting that improve the thermal conductivity of furnace-block coolers that incorporate coolant pipes. The combined methods verify in simulation that operational thermal stresses at the pipe-casting interface stay in-bounds of material stress limits, and that the peak temperatures on the hot face do not rise above 450° C.

    摘要: An aluminum gas distribution plate refurbishment system combines a multi-beam inductively coupled plasma (AP-ICP) torch and vacuum discharge chuck. Plasma beams are employed to clean and restore to service the many gas flow passages in aluminum type gas distribution plates. Several parallel supersonic plasma beams of uniform density are produced from a single upper and lower AP-ICP plasma reactor arranged in totem pole that are driven by two pairs of opposing spiral planar RF induction RF antennas. These plasma beams are focused inside the gas flow passages to etch, heat, and deposit nanoparticles within. The vacuum discharge chuck includes a capacitively coupled plasma (CCP) reactor to generate a positive species discharge immediately beneath the gas distribution plates. This overcomes and undoes a Debye Sheathing effect, a electron-fed negative space charge blocking occurring above, and unknots any congested plasma beams in the gas flow passages.

    摘要: All of a cast-iron or cast-copper stave cooler's weight is supported inside a furnace containment shell by single gas-tight steel collar on the backside. All the coolant piping in each cooler has every external connection collected and routed together through the one steel collar. A wear protection barrier is disposed on the hot face. Such is limited to include at least one of horizontal rows of ribs and channels that retain metal inserts or refractory bricks, or pockets that assist in the retention of castable cement and/or accretions frozen in place from a melt, or an application of an area of hardfacing that is welded on in bead, crosshatch, or weave pattern.
