摘要: A method to access an object in a computer system storage includes receiving a reference to the object, obtaining a referential map based on the reference (the referential map indicating a plurality of logical storage locations), each logical storage location associated with a portion of the object, and obtaining a physical map that is independent of the referential map from one of the logical storage locations indicated in the referential map, the physical map indicating a physical storage location of at least a part of that portion of the object being accessed. Computer storage systems providing distributed storage in accordance with this method and methods storage media having instructions to perform the method are also described.

摘要: An ironing assembly for use in chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) is provided. The ironing assembly is designed for use over a linear polishing pad which has a plurality of asperities and applied slurry. The ironing assembly includes an ironing disk having a contact surface. The ironing disk is oriented over the linear polishing pad such that the contact surface of the ironing disk can be applied over the surface of the linear polishing pad to at least partially flatten the plurality of asperities before planarizing a semiconductor wafer surface over the linear polishing pad.

摘要: A method for detecting a thickness of a layer of a wafer is provided. The method includes defining a particular radius of a wafer carrier configured to engage the wafer to be processed. The method also includes providing a plurality of sensors configured to create a set of complementary sensors. Further included in the method is distributing the plurality of sensors along the particular radius within the wafer carrier such that each sensor of the plurality of sensors is out of phase with an adjacent sensor by a same angle. The method also includes measuring signals generated by the plurality of sensors. Further included is averaging the signals generated by the plurality of sensors so as to generate a combination signal. The averaging is configured to remove noise from the combination signal such that the combination signal is capable of being correlated to identify the thickness of the layer.

摘要: A system and method for generating a test case for testing a device to be connected to a computer is disclosed. A base test object is provided. The base test object defines test properties for a device. The base test object includes a transaction generator that generates transactions. An extending test object is created, the extending test object defines test properties for a distinct configuration of the device. The extending test object also inherits at least one test property of the base test object. The transaction generator is executed to generate several transactions for the test case, each of the transactions defining a stimulus being specifically designed to stimulate at least one test property of the distinct configuration of the device.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for distributed intraframe transmission. In one embodiment of the present invention, digital images are divided into regions. In this embodiment, an I-frame is not transmitted all at once. Instead, in each transmission, a region of the image is compressed without using interframe compression while the rest of the image is compressed using interframe compression. The region transmitted without interframe compression changes with each transmission. Thus, over the course of several transmissions every region of the image is transmitted without interframe compression. A transmission schedule controls the transmission of I-frame data for an entire image over the course of several frame transmissions. In one embodiment, a digital image is divided into M regions, and one region is transmitted without using interframe compression in each frame. In one embodiment, the M regions are numbered from 0 to M−1, and a region is selected for transmission without using interframe compression when the region number is equal to MOD (F, M), where F is the frame number. In one embodiment, the regions are non-overlapping rectangular regions. In another embodiment, the regions are strips of pixels. In another embodiment, regions are non-contiguous pixels. In yet another embodiment, regions which will be transmitted without interframe compression comprise sets of pixels which have not been refreshed within M frames and pixels which are selected by a compressibility criteria.

摘要: An invention is provided for reducing subthreshold current in memory core cells. A memory array having a plurality of memory core cells is provided. Each memory core cell in the memory array is selectable using a word line. A selected word line addressing a particular memory core cell is charged to a positive voltage. In addition, unselected wordlines of the memory array are charged to a negative voltage. In this manner, subthreshold current associated with unselected memory core cells is reduced.

摘要: Color CRTs, used in large display screens, have a plurality of three color electron beams that are strongly focused so that they crossover and become divergent in both the X and Y axes if the CTR's face. The strength of the focusing determines the size of the illuminated area on the face of the CRT. A shadow mask, aperture grill, or slotted mask and the red, green and blue phosphor dots or stripes are located at predetermined positions such that the red electron beams only hit the red phosphors, the green electron beams only hit the green phosphors, and the blue electron beams only hit the blue phosphors. No raster scanning with the electron beams are required.

摘要: A content addressable memory (CAM) is provided that can perform wide word searches. At least one CAM memory core having a plurality of bit pattern entry rows is included in the CAM. In addition, search logic is included that, is capable searching particular rows during each cycle. The search logic is also capable of allowing match line results of unsearched rows to remain unchanged during a cycle. The CAM further includes a serial AND array in communication with the bit pattern entry rows, wherein the serial AND array is capable of computing a match result for wide word entries that span multiple bit pattern entry rows. In one aspect, a match line enable signal is provided to the serial AND array, which facilitates computation of the match result.

摘要: In a method for making a stainless steel reinforced belt pad for linear chemical mechanical planarization (CMP), a stainless steel band is disposed around an inner mold having positioners configured to hold the stainless steel band in place during a molding process. Once the stainless steel band is disposed around the inner mold, pad material is injected into the gap defined between the outer mold and the stainless steel band. An inner mold for making a stainless steel reinforced belt pad for linear CMP includes a cylindrical body and a plurality of positioners affixed to the cylindrical body. The plurality of positioners is arranged so as to hold a stainless steel band disposed around the cylindrical body in place during a molding process. By way of example, suitable positioners include spring-loaded ball plungers.
