Abstract: A package includes a first die with a bridging element with a first interconnect region, a first photonic transceiver portion, a second interconnect region, a first photonic path to an optical interface (OI), and a second photonic path from the OI to the first photonic transceiver portion. The first interconnect region electrically couples the first photonic transceiver portion to a second photonic transceiver portion in an analog/mixed-signal die (AMS die), while the second interconnect region connects a third photonic transceiver portion in a general die to the second photonic transceiver portion using an electrical coupling embedded in the first die. The electrical interconnects in the first interconnect region are less than two millimeters in length.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for sharing access to a database of records relating to clinical trial investigators amongst a number of users is disclosed. Each record includes a number of data fields associated with a clinical trial investigator and has associated metadata indicating a record owner. The method comprises: a) receiving a database query from a first user; b) resolving the query using a first subset of the records in the database including only those records for which the associated metadata indicates that the record owner is the first user and those records for which the associated metadata indicates that the record owner is another user which has registered a sharing rule in respect of the first user, whereby the first user is granted permission to access its records; and c) generating a result set including only those records used to resolve the query that satisfy the query.

The process controller and I/O access device each include a processor and memory that implement send and receive logic for communicating using any of multiple redundancy protocols including a first and a second redundant protocol. The cable connection is for supporting simultaneously communicating between the process controller and the second node utilizing both the first redundant protocol and the second redundant protocol.
