Abstract:
A breathing apparatus (1), including a mask (2) and a neck component (3). The mask (2) is adapted to substantially surround at least the mouth or nostrils of a user. The neck component (3) is attached to said mask (2), and adapted to substantially surround the back of the neck of said user. The neck component (3) includes a flow generator to receive unfiltered air from a surrounding environment, filter said unfiltered air, and, provide filtered air to said mask (2). The breathing apparatus (1) has a ‘low profile’ appearance and is adapted to sit comfortably about the neck of the user.
Abstract:
A humidifier includes a tub configured to contain a supply of water and a heater including a first polymer film having an electrically conductive circuit provided upon a surface. The first polymer film is electrically insulating and the tub is formed of molded resin and the heater is molded at least partially within the resin. A respiratory apparatus for delivering a flow of breathable gas to a patient includes the humidifier. A method of humidifying a flow of pressurized breathable gas includes passing the flow of pressurized breathable gas over a supply of water contained in a tub. The tub is formed of molded resin and a heater including a first polymer film having an electrically conductive circuit on a first surface is molded at least partially within the resin.
Abstract:
A CPAP system includes a flow generator (10), a patient interface (50), an air delivery conduit (20) that interconnects the flow generator and the patient interface, wherein the air delivery conduit has an internal diameter of less than 19 mm. Preferably the air delivery conduit has an internal diameter of between about 10 mm and about 18 mm The CPAP system may also include a controller for compensating for pressure swings and/or increased impedance within the system. Preferably the blower includes a low inertia blower.

Abstract:
A respiratory treatment device comprising a flow generator and a humidifier adapted to receive a supply of air at positive pressure from the flow generator and deliver it to an air delivery tube, wherein the humidifier includes a base, a humidifier lid, and a water tank, and the water tank includes a water tank lid, the water tank is removably receivable in the base to define a first air flow path from the flow generator to an interior of the water tank, and the humidifier lid is connectable to the air delivery tube, and is adapted to form a seal with the water tank lid to define a second air flow path from the interior of the water tank to the air delivery tube.
Abstract:
A method of sealably locating a humidifier water tub in a humidifier base comprising positioning a rear surface of the humidifier water tub to abut a humidifier seal to form an air path from a flow generator outlet into an interior of the water tub, and pressing a humidifier lid of the humidifier to engage a surface of a tub lid of the humidifier water tub to form a sealed air path between an interior of the humidifier water tub and an air delivery conduit connector positioned on the humidifier lid.
