Abstract:
A system for sub-surface fluorescence imaging is provided, the system comprising: an excitation source for selectably emitting light at at least one of at least two excitation wavelengths or wavelength ranges at a target surface; and a light detector for detecting fluorescence emission wavelengths or wavelength ranges from the target surface; wherein at least one of the at least two excitation wavelengths or wavelength ranges causes fluorescing of at least one marker at a sub-surface depth, the emitted light at each of the at least two excitation wavelengths or wavelength ranges having different depths of optical penetration and causing fluorescing at respective different depths. A method for sub-surface fluorescence imaging is also provided, in some cases exemplified by a reconstruction of the sub-surface fluorescence topography.
Abstract:
A circuit interconnect device racking apparatus is disclosed. The circuit interconnect device racking apparatus has a body adapted to couple to a circuit interconnect device, one or more frame connectors coupled to the body, a racking lever coupled to the body by a lever pivot, the racking lever having a cam mechanism component, and one or more bus connectors configured to connect to or disconnect from one or more bus bars responsive to rotation of the racking lever. Circuit interconnect device racking assemblies having the circuit interconnect device racking apparatus and methods of connecting circuit interconnect devices to one or more bus bars are disclosed, as are other aspects.

Abstract:
Formulations containing anthraquinone derivatives with increased effectiveness as pesticides are provided. These formulations may comprise (a) a preparation comprising one or more anthraquinone derivatives having activity against plant pests; (b) one or more C2-C7 alcohols, or glycols or lactones; and (c) one or more surfactants selected from the group consisting of a sulfate, ethoxylated fatty acid esters wherein said alcohols and surfactants are present in amounts effective to stability said preparation. Also provided are methods of using these formulations as pesticides.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods for laser surgery and growth factor stimulation for ultra-precision surgery with healing. The method is achieved by cutting biological tissue using an ultrafast laser, which produces laser pulses less than 10 picosecond in duration, to induce a cold ablation process in order to avoid the formation of carbonaceous or other materials that cannot be removed efficiently or completely from the wounded area through natural healing mechanisms. By use of femtosecond lasers, a negligible amount of debris is generated and an outer layer of intact but non viable cells are created principally through shock wave induce damage and ionizing radiation effects induced by multiphoton absorption of ultrashort laser pulses. The normal healing process is blocked by this outer layer of cells as all cell contacts are still intact. Therefore the healing process must be stimulated. The healing may be triggered or accelerated, or both, by application of growth factor molecules and/or signal proteins to the effectively undamaged cells causing the damaged cells to be replaced and the wound to close. The combination of very precise laser cutting used in combination with growth factors is the key to this unique tool.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses that, formic acid or salt thereof, is an effective pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide. Formic acid biodegrades to carbon dioxide and water thus posing not threat the environment. With proper formulation and the use of respiratory protection, formic acid also poses no threat to the applicator. Formic acid is demonstrated in this invention to control both monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants.
Abstract:
A radiator fan shroud (100) is disclosed that is adapted to be attached to a vehicle radiator (96)—for example, the radiator of a Class 8 truck. The fan shroud includes a peripheral cover portion (112) and a ring assembly (102) that encloses the blades of the engine-driven radiator fan (88). The ring assembly may be formed integrally with the peripheral cover portion or may include a separable ring extension (120). The ring assembly includes a plurality of ports (104) defined by vanes (106) at the rearward portion of the ring assembly. The ports are selectively positioned to manage the airflow in the engine compartment, directing the airflow towards selected locations. The vanes may be fluted. The fan shroud may be formed from two or more pieces that cooperatively form the fan shroud, to facilitate installation and maintenance of the fan shroud.
Abstract:
Phenyl compounds substituted at the 1-position with a fused bicyclo moeity formed from a five-membered heterocycle fused to a six-membered carbocycle, to a six-membered aryl, or to a six-membered hetaryl, and further optionally substituted at 2 the 3,4 positions, are mGluR5 modulators useful in the treatment of psychiatric and mood disorders such as, for example, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, and panic, as well as in the treatment of pain and other diseases.
Abstract:
A landscaping tow apparatus for cultivating dirt or land. The apparatus includes a U-shaped bracket rotatably secured to a tool head support, wherein the tool head support includes a plurality of tool heads removably secured thereon for cultivating the land. A hitch is further affixed to the U-shaped bracket and can mount the apparatus to a vehicle, such as a tractor or riding lawnmower. A pair of wheels are extendable from the bracket in order to engage the ground and lift the tool head support for rotation thereof. In operation, the hitch is secured to a tractor and the side of the tool head support having the desired tool head is positioned against the ground. The wheels are extended so that the tool head support can be rotated in order to have a different tool head engage the ground.
