摘要: In a method of generating governing metrics, a high-level goal to be met in a provisioned system is identified. In addition, a low-level governing policy designed to facilitate achievement of the high-level goal is selected and properties relating to the selected low-level governing policy are identified. The identified properties are formulated to define governing metrics relevant to the selected low-level governing policy and the formulated governing metrics are outputted. The formulated governing metrics are configured to be used in at least one of evaluating and controlling resource provisioning in the provisioned system.

摘要: A data center includes a mobile enclosure having an interior space. The interior space includes a first section and a second section, where the first section is separated from the second section by a first divider. The first section houses a rack having a first side and a second side, where the rack is positioned to separate the first section into a first aisle and a second aisle such that fluid flow between the first aisle and the second aisle is substantially prevented other than through the rack. The first aisle includes a fluid delivery device and the second aisle includes a fluid removal device, where the second section facilitates fluid communication between the fluid removal device and the fluid delivery device.

摘要: According to one embodiment, an equipment enclosure includes a plurality of equipment elements, each element having one or more heat generating sources. A heat exchanger is mounted towards the top of the equipment enclosure. The heat exchanger is thermally coupled to at least some of the heat generating sources. The enclosure includes an exhaust vent through which air heated by the heat exchanger may be evacuated, and an inlet vent through which air from outside the equipment enclosure may be drawn into the equipment enclosure to cool the heat exchanger by stack effect ventilation.

摘要: A projection system has at least one heat source. A closed-loop heat pipe has at least one heat receiving portion thermally coupled with the at least one heat source, and at least one heat rejecting portion thermally coupled with a heat sink. A heat carrying fluid circulating through the heat pipe receives heat from the at least one heat source and releases heat to the heat sink.

摘要: A modular sensor assembly for sensing conditions at a computer rack, such as environmental conditions. The sensor assembly includes an elongate flexible body, configured to attach to a computer rack, with a plurality of addressable sensors, disposed along the body and interconnected to a common connector wire. A connector wire lead is provided to interconnect the connector wire to a central system configured to receive and interpret data from the plurality of sensors relating to conditions associated with the computer rack.

摘要: A method for controlling one or more computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units configured to receive return air for energy efficient operation. In the method, the temperature of the air returned (Trat) into the one or more CRAC units is detected. It is determined whether the Trat is within a predetermined setpoint temperature range and at least one operation of the one or more CRAC units is reduced in response to the Trat being within the predetermined setpoint temperature range to thereby increase the efficiencies of the one or more CRAC units.
