摘要: A device may include a plurality of direct current to direct current (DC/DC) converters that may produce voltages, and a first device that may receive a signal from a second device on a removable module when the removable module is coupled to the device. The first device may produce, based on the signal, an instruction related to one or more voltages associated with the removable module. The instruction may cause a first DC/DC converter and a second DC/DC converter, of the plurality of DC/DC converters, to power up at different times based on a particular sequence, and generate the one or more voltages. The particular sequence may be based on the signal. The first device may cause the one or more voltages, generated by the first DC/DC converter and the second DC/DC converter, to be provided to the removable module.

摘要: Systems and methods for confirming that a circuit card is compatible with a computer in which it is installed includes accessing a list of compatible circuit cards stored in the computer's nonvolatile memory, determining if the circuit card is included in the list of compatible circuit cards; and storing operating software on the circuit card only if the circuit card is included in the list of compatible circuit cards. The list of compatible circuit cards can be the Plug-and-Play Identification (PnP ID) list stored in the computer's BIOS data. Power may be removed from the circuit card if the circuit card is not include in the list of compatible circuit cards.

摘要: A system may include a module that includes a component, a logic device to provide an instruction on behalf of the component, and control logic to generate a desired output voltage signal in response to a constant current, where the desired output voltage signal indicates a determined voltage that the component is configured to operate with when performing an operation. The system may include a board that includes a power supply to produce the determined voltage based on the instruction, and an interface to couple the determined voltage to the component to allow the component to perform the operation on behalf of the board, send the constant current to the control logic, and receive the desired output voltage signal from the control logic.

摘要: Obscured radio frequency identification (RFID) tags are indirectly read by an RFID reader. Other tags operate to relay the information associated with the obscured tags from one tag to another, until the associated information is ultimately received by the RFID reader from a tag in direct communication with the RFID reader. The tags may be adapted to store the received information associated with the obscured tags and then to encode this associated information and resident information in return signal(s) transmitted to the RFID reader and/or to other tag(s). The RFID reader is adapted to decode the received return signals to obtain the information encoded therein, and to process the decoded information to identify irrelevant tags and obscured tags.

摘要: A fence panel for a horse training corral generally comprises a containment wall for containing a horse and a dog-leg support member connected to the bottom of the containment wall for supporting the containment wall at a height so as to contain a horse and extending substantially outward from the wall such that a horse confined inside the fence panel is substantially prevented from striking the bottom of the dog-leg support member with a hoof. A horse training corral includes a plurality of joined of fence panels wherein the second end member of one panel is joined to the first end member of an adjoining panel. Preferably, the dog leg support members extend laterally so as to align with the corral center. A plurality of ground footers each include bosses for receiving a dog-leg from each of adjacent joined the panels.

摘要: A lighter including, in one embodiment, a housing, a fuel tank disposed within the housing, a valve adapted to release fuel from the fuel tank, a piezoelectric unit adapted to provide a spark to ignite fuel released from the fuel tank, a display, circuitry, and an activator. The circuitry includes one or more random-number generators, each random-number generator adapted to provide a random number from among a plurality of possible numbers. The circuitry further includes one or more look-up tables, each look-up table mapping each of the plurality of possible numbers from one of the random-number generators to a corresponding alphanumeric phrase. The circuitry is adapted to (i) generate a random number using one of the random-number generators, (ii) retrieve, from the one or more look-up tables, an alphanumeric phrase corresponding to the generated random number, and (iii) display the retrieved alphanumeric phrase on the display. The activator is adapted to (i) engage the piezoelectric unit to provide a spark, (ii) engage the valve to release fuel from the fuel tank, and (iii) engage the circuitry to display at least one retrieved alphanumeric phrase on the display.

摘要: A system and method for improved cumulative assessment provide for automatically, e.g., programmatically, determining an evaluation of two or more assessments including two or more related items in a cumulative manner. In one embodiment, an initial assessment including initial assessment items is administered at time T1 and scored to produce an ability estimate. At least one successive assessment is also administered and scored to produce an ability estimate. Selected ones of the administered assessments or included items are determined (“included assessments”), and the included assessments are scored to produce a simultaneous maximum likelihood ability estimate for the included assessments, for example, in view of all of the included assessments.

摘要: A method for managing supply chain relationships between a plurality of participants in the supply chain is described. The method includes receiving electronic messages exchanged between the supply chain participants and parsing the received messages for one or more of participant identifier information and contextual data relating to a business event. The method also includes analyzing a performance criteria for the supply chain based on data parsed from the electronic messages and providing data relating to supply chain management to the relevant participants based on the analysis.
