    摘要: Disclosed is an awning which is specifically designed to attach, in a horizontal orientation, above the heads of passengers in a convertible automobile. The occupants may travel with the convertible top down and enjoy a relative cooler temperature and protection from ultraviolet rays. Generally, the screen material used to comprise the awning is of a mesh design, sized and fitted to be usable for providing overhead coverage of the passenger seats on a specific convertible. Varying lengths and widths of the screen material are fabricated for different size automobiles. The awning is supported at the windshield header of the convertible and by two vertically-oriented posts behind the rearmost seats of the convertible. The awning is readily installed on the automobile and may, when not in use, be rolled up and stored within the trunk of the subject convertible.

    摘要: A serial bus communications method and circuitry for low speed serial bus functions. Over a two-wire communications channel, a unidirectional clock line and a bidirectional data line are used to transfer data. A protocol defines permissions, acknowledgments, terminations and retries handshaking between points. Circuitry is provided for reducing the latency of the serial bus when cooperating with the low speed functions. A resistive connection scheme is disclosed for converting high voltage signals into lower voltage signals.

    摘要: An improved permanent magnet DC generator includes at least one stator arranged normal to a rotor. Preferably, there are a plurality of stators each having successive strata of windings in a first direction, windings in a second direction, and a core comprising a surrounding sheet of magnetizable material. The windings and core are separated by electrical insulation. The stator may be constructed to include recurring patterns of windings and cores as described above, all windings being formed from a continuous conductive filament. A stator is preferably includes a non-conductive base attachable to the generator by threaded fasteners. The rotor includes a pair of diametrically opposed magnet groups. Within each group, there is a leading magnet, a plurality of central magnets, and a trailing magnet. Individual magnets are arranged such that the forward face of the leading magnet, the outer face of the central magnets, and the rear face of the trailing magnet all expose like poles to the stator. A consistent magnetic orientation is thus imposed upon the stator, and parasitic internal losses are thus avoided. The magnets project rearwardly from the rotor, and partly overlap or surround the motor driving the rotor. This helps stabilize the rotor at high rotational speeds. The rotor is potted in epoxy and banded circumferentially with wire to help retain the magnets in place at high rotational speeds.

    摘要: An apparatus for loosening and removing sludge and other impurities from the interior of a heat exchanger vessel which may be the secondary side of a nuclear steam generator is disclosed herein. The apparatus generally comprises a nozzle having a first end that is detachably mountable into an access opening such as a sludge lance port in the secondary side of the generator, and a second end that extends into the interior of the secondary side at a 30 degree downward angle relative to the tubesheet in the vessel for minimizing the stresses applied to the heat exchanger tubes, and for uniformly reflecting the pulse back up toward the upper portions of the secondary side. A pulse generator is operably connected to the nozzle which has a controller for controlling the power level of the pulses generated. To further minimize such peak tube stresses, the pulse generator includes a pulse flattener, and the second end of the nozzle is aligned down the main tube lane.

    摘要: A method for loosening and removing sludge and debris from the vessel of a heat exchanger, such as the secondary side of a nuclear steam generator, is disclosed herein. The method generally comprises the steps of providing a sufficient volume of a liquid, such as water, into the steam generator so that the lower portion which includes the tubesheet is submerged, and then generating a succession of pressure pulses within the water from one or more pressure pulse generators wherein each pressure pulse creates shock waves that exert momentary forces throughout the submerged portion of the generator of a magnitude sufficient to loosen the sludge and debris, but safely below the yield and fatigue limits of the heat exchanger tubes and other components within the generator. The pressure pulses commence as soon as a sufficient amount of water is introduced into the steam generator to submerge the tubesheet, and continue all the way through the draining of the steam generator.
