Abstract: A method of direct printing or writing of a metallic material involves depositing, with a printing device or writing device, an ink comprising of at least undercooled liquid metallic particles dispersed in a carrier fluid. The ink is deposited on any substrate surface to deposit the undercooled liquid metal particles thereon as one or more layers that can form a desired pattern or layered structure.

Abstract: An artificial and/or simulated environment is used to raise a domestic or commercially raised animal to promote a positive health feedback and to minimize stress on the animal. The simulated environment is used to create the façade of a free range or cage free environment, while also minimizing the exposure to inclement weather, potential predators, and other unknown or stress-inducing situations. The results include animals that have higher resistance to diseases and have a lower stress. The artificial environment can be created by projecting or otherwise showing images and/or videos depicting simulation of environments, climate, and/or other unknown situations to normalize the animals to the same.

Abstract: Various embodiments relate to additive manufacturing providing compositional control of a material build in three-dimensions. Composition of a material can be controlled in a plane in a spatial manner by directly irradiating the material with an energy beam using a combination of energy scan techniques to volatilize elements of the material away from the material. Such processing can include a change between two distinct scan strategies to produce a spatial variation in composition of the material. Additional systems and methods are disclosed.

The iron impregnated biochar of the present application has a ratio of iron (III) to iron (II) ranging from 5:1 to 10:1. The biochar may be produced by a method including treating the biomass with an iron (II) ion solution, pyrolyzing the iron (II)-treated biomass in an oxidative environment and recovering the biochar product from the pyrolyzed iron (II)-treated biomass.

Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a dry-type lubricant for use in a dry product hopper to help improve dry product flow and to improve anti-jamming properties of the dry product. The example lubricant can comprise a hydrophilic fiber, such as cellulose, having a width to length aspect ratio that provides a thin fiber. A plurality of hydrophobic particles are deposited on the surface of the fiber, resulting in a fiber surface exhibiting amphiphobic properties. Further, the fiber can operably absorb water, and then releases the absorbed water to the surface of the fiber under mechanical stress, such as when mixed with a product in a hopper. This can result in the water being disposed on the surface of the fiber, to provide lubrication to a product in a hopper to improve flow and anti-jamming characteristics of the product in the hopper.

Abstract: A method of conversion of thioimidates into amidines includes reacting a starting material compound including a thioimidate with a nitrogen-containing reagent to form a product compound including an amidine in place of the thioimidate in the starting material compound. The nitrogen-containing reagent includes a primary amine, a secondary amine, an ammonium salt, or a combination thereof. The thioimidate includes —S—R1, wherein R1 is substituted or unsubstituted (C1-C20)hydrocarbyl. A method of forming a cyclized product includes intramolecularly reacting an amidine with a carbonyl carbon to form the cyclized product including a 4H-imidazolone and/or a derivative thereof.
