Abstract: An electrolyser comprising: a solid-state membrane; an ion-conductive electrolyte; a gas-electrolyte separator; and an anion exchange membrane (“AEM”). The electrolyser may be an anion exchange (“AE”), AEM, or alkaline electrolyser. An electrolyser comprising: an electrode; the electrode comprising a catalyst coating; the catalyst coating comprising micrometer-sized pores and/or a microporous internal structure. The electrode, micrometer-sized pores, and/or a microporous internal structure may be configured to increase gas release from the electrolyser. A method for manufacturing an electrode, the method comprising mixing a catalyst with a pore-forming agent to form a slurry.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hypochlorous acid generating electrode that is substantially free from rhodium, which is comparable in performance to a rhodium-containing electrode and is more durable than the rhodium-containing electrode. The electrode to be used for generating hypochlorous acid by electrolyzing water that contains a chloride ion has excellent hypochlorous acid water generation ability and durability, in which the electrode has an electrode substrate comprising titanium or titanium alloy, and a composite layer that is electrically connected with the electrode substrate and that contains iridium or a compound thereof, tantalum or a compound thereof, and ruthenium or a compound thereof and/or platinum, and does not contain rhodium oxide.

Abstract: A system and method for generating arsine are disclosed. The system may include a shell having a top interior surface. The system may also include a cathode-anode assembly positioned in the shell and forming an elongated structure substantially parallel to the top surface. The cathode-anode assembly may include a first electrode and a second electrode surrounding the first electrode and forming a gap therebetween. The second electrode may include a plurality of channels along a length of the second electrode. The plurality of channels may allow circulation of electrolyte within and around at least a portion of the cathode-anode assembly and allow gases generated in response to current applied to the cathode-anode assembly to escape from the cathode-anode assembly. Such gases may be used as precursor gases for a high-volume metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) operation.
