    摘要: A method of controlling an automatic transmission of a machine includes a step of identifying an upcoming gear ratio change from a current gear ratio to a proposed gear ratio. An estimated power output value, based on the proposed gear ratio and a current engine speed, is determined. The estimated power output value is adjusted based on a derated operating condition. If the estimated power output value is greater than or equal to a current power output value, a gear evaluation identifier is set to a first value. If the estimated power output value is less than the current power output value, the gear evaluation identifier is set to a second value.

Each of the first plurality of valve mechanisms is associated with one of the plurality of hydraulically actuated clutches and configured to selectively fill and drain the associated one of the plurality of hydraulically actuated clutches. Each of the second plurality of valve mechanisms is associated with one of the plurality of hydraulically actuated clutches and configured to selectively fill and drain the associated one of the plurality of hydraulically actuated clutches. The transmission also includes a master latch mechanism in fluid communication with only the second plurality of valve mechanisms. The master latch mechanism is configured to selectively affect movement of the second plurality of valve mechanisms in response to an electrical power failure.

    摘要: A power system includes an engine that has engine controls, a power load, and a torque converter connected between the engine and the power load. The engine controls may operate the engine according to a first control strategy in at least some circumstances. The first control strategy may provide higher engine fuel efficiency at a first combination of engine speed and torque that corresponds to a drive speed/reaction torque band of the torque converter than it provides at combinations of engine speed and torque that do not correspond to the drive speed/reaction torque band of the torque converter. Additionally, at one or more combinations of engine speed and torque other than the first combination, the first control strategy may cause the engine to produce a lower quantity of at least one noxious exhaust emission than the engine produces at the first combination of engine speed and torque when operated according to the first control strategy.

    摘要: A machine includes a drive train with an electronically controlled transmission in communication with an electronic engine controller. The machine ground speed is limited by executing a vehicle speed limit algorithm in the electronic transmission controller. This algorithm generates an engine control message that is communicated to the electronic engine controller. The power output of the engine is reduced responsive to the engine control message. The machine responds by not exceeding a prescribed speed limit programmed into the electronic transmission controller. This vehicle speed limiting strategy is particularly applicable to machines without a vehicle speed limiting algorithm resident in the electronic engine controller.

In an example, when a request is received, e.g., from an operator, to shift the driveline PTO from a first mode to a second mode, the transmission is automatically modulated between its first neutral condition and its second neutral condition while the driveline PTO is shifted from the first mode to the second mode, thus minimizing torque lock and facilitating mode changes.

    摘要: A vehicle theft deterrent system for controlling the operation of a vehicle engine when the engine is in an unattended idle mode of operation wherein a vehicle ground speed sensor, an engine speed sensor, an operator input device actuatable to enter a security code, a power takeoff (PTO) switch operable to provide power from the engine to a remote location, a throttle position indicator sensor, cruise control switches, and an ignition key switch are all coupled to an electronic controller in a particular manner such that the proper combination of a valid security code and certain signal inputs from the various system components will enable and disable a secure idle mode of operation, and will limit vehicle operation if unauthorized use is detected while the system is enabled. The present system allows the electronic controller to determine whether the vehicle is moving and/or performing some type of work function prior to any enablement of the system and, once enabled, allows an operator to elevate the engine speed above normal idle limits to run certain parasitic loads prior to leaving the vehicle unattended without triggering the theft deterrent features of the present system.
