摘要： A technique for representing an information need and employing one or more filters to select documents that satisfy the represented information need, including a technique of creating filters that involves (a) dividing a set of documents into one or more subsets such that each subset can be used as the source of features for creating a filtering profile or used to set or validate the score threshold for the profile and (b) determining whether multiple profiles are required and how to combine them to create an effective filter. Multiple profiles can be incorporated into an individual filter and the individual filters combined to create an ensemble filter. Ensemble filters can then be further combined to create meta filters.

The voltage potential of the first metal pattern is less than the voltage potential of the metal source.

摘要： A system is provided for recovering a mobile device by enabling an authorized user to remotely change the profile of the device to assist others in returning the device to the user. Initially, a user registers the mobile device with a recovery assist server. When the user is unable to locate the device because it is, for example, lost or stolen, the user indicates with the server that the device is missing. The device and the server are configured to communicate with each other, for example, periodically or, in another example, on device start up. If the device is identified as missing on the server, the operation of the mobile device is configured based on a missing profile associated with the mobile device. Once the device is located, the user indicates with the server that the device is no longer missing. When the device is unidentified as missing on the server, the operation of the mobile device is configured based on a user profile associated with the mobile device. When the mobile device is configured based on the missing profile, the mobile device may, for example, display a background image or play a ring tone to inform persons near the device that the device is considered mislaid and to provide such persons with information for returning the device.

A particular document is selected from among available documents of the set of documents, and a probe is generated based on the particular document. The probe comprises one or more features. Documents are found that satisfy a similarity condition using the probe from among the available documents. Some or all of the documents that satisfy the similarity condition are associated with a particular cluster of documents. The process can be repeated to generate further clusters. The method can be implemented with a computer, and associated programming instructions can be contained within a compute readable carrier.

摘要： A composite article is formed from yarn, comprising high strength fibres and fusible blocking material, and outer fusible material. The yarn is formed into its required shape and placed in a mould. The outer fusible material is introduced into the mould and its temperature is raised so as to melt the lower-melt temperature blocking fibres of the yarn. Under the action of temperature and pressure in the mould, the blocking material fuses so as to fill any interstices between the strength fibres, and the yarn is enclosed within the outer fusible material. The method is useful for forming electrical insulators of high strength glass fibre in the form of a loop (4) blocked against flow of moisture by polypropylene and enclosed within non-tracking polyethylene electrically insulating material (6).
