摘要： A fastener for venting gas around the shank of the fastener. The present invention includes various embodiments for venting gases such as combustion gases that seep from a head gasket of an internal combustion engine to the area around the shank of a cylinder head bolt, as one example. The various vent paths include vent paths directly through the bolt, past the bearing surface of the bolted member, or past a washer between the fastener and the bolted member. These vent paths prevent gases from building up in the chamber between the fastener shank and the clearance hole of the bolted member.

摘要： The disclosure relates to the floor scrubbing or finishing machines. There is provided a machine for scrubbing or finishing a floor surface comprising carriage means adapted for translational movement over a floor surface, a workhead, an electric motor carried by the carriage means and arranged in use to drive the workhead and battery support means adapted in use to support at least one battery as a source of electric power for driving the electric motor, wherein said battery support means are adapted to support said at least one battery so that said at least one battery can be positioned in a selected one of a range of positions relative to said workhead whereby the loading on said workhead can be varied as required.

摘要： 9-dihydro-13-acetylbaccatin III, one of the chemicals obtained from Taxus canadensis is used to produce, inter alia, 10-decetylbaccatin III, a useful intermediate for the preparation of paclitaxel and analogues thereof The 9-dihydro-13-acetylbaccatin III is converted into the 10-deacetylbaccatin III by a simple three step process involving (a) replacement of the C-7 hydroxyl group of tho 9-dihydro compound with a protecting group, (b) the oxidizing of the C-7 protected compound to produce a C-9 ketone, and (c) the deprotecting of the C-9 ketone to produce 10-deacetylbaccatin III.

摘要： This invention relates to the role of the enzyme proprotein convertase 5/6 in pregnancy, and in particular to the detection or modulation of proprotein convertase 5/6 and its isoforms in the uterus. This enzyme is useful in the control of fertility, the monitoring of early pregnancy, and for the detection of uterine receptivity. The invention also relates to methods of screening for compounds which have the ability to modulate the activity or expression of proprotein convertase 5/6, which may be useful in regulating fertility in mammals. Novel forms of proprotein convertase 5/6 are also disclosed and claimed.

摘要： The invention relates to a enzyme predicted to be a serine protease, which is specifically expressed in association with embryo implantation and placentation in pregnant uterus. The enzyme of the invention is useful in the evaluation of fertility and monitoring of early pregnancy, placental development and function, fetal development, parturition, and conditions such as pre-eclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, early abortion, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, and cancers, and may provide a potential target for contraception. It may also be important in diseases of the heart, testis or ovary, and may play a role in muscle function, including cardiac muscle, skeletal muscle, lung and the diaphragm. In addition the enzyme of the invention is useful in the screening of candidate drugs for fertility control or for treatment of fertility-related disorders.
