    摘要: A device to secure the rider of a horse or other beast of burden to the animal without the need for a rigid saddle. This device also prevents the rider's bouncing when riding the animal. The preferred embodiment of this invention utilizes a strong fabric such as canvas or wool to form a blanket that covers the horse's back and sides and is strapped to the horse by attached strapping so it holds its position on the horse at all times. Sewed to this blanket in a central position are hook and loop fastener strips whose second, mating half strips are likewise sewn to the rider's pants or chaps so they are opposite the hook and loop fastener strips on the horse's blanket and mate with them when the rider is astride the horse. A disengaging device, which can interrupt the hook and loop fastener strip's bonding, is also provided to allow the rider to separate the fastener strips before leaving the horse.

    摘要: A one-package stable rubber based curable composition contains:(a) a functional rubber polymer selected from the group consisting of functional homopolymers of polybutadiene, isoprene or neoprene; functional copolymers of polybutadiene, isoprene and/or neoprene; and functional copolymers of polybutadiene, neoprene or isoprene with an aliphatic or alicyclic unsaturated hydrocarbon; and(b) a vulcanization system comprising sulfur, wherein the composition contains at least 15 parts of functional rubber polymer per 100 parts of composition and at least 15 parts of sulfur per 100 parts of the total amount of all rubber polymers in the composition, with the proviso that the cured composition has an elongation not exceeding 15 percent and the functional groups present on the functional rubber polymer of (a) remain essentially unreacted during cure of the composition.

    摘要: A liquid filtering apparatus comprises upper and lower platens and a plurality of intermediate plate members between the platens. When pressed together with a sheet of filter media between each pair of adjacent plates, a fluid-tight chamber for incoming liquid to be filtered is formed on one side of the filter media. When the filter media requires replacement, the upper platen is lifted to separate the plates. Each plate is provided with combined alignment and stop means so that when the plates are again brought together after renewal of the filter media, they will automatically resume their normal stacked position in proper alignment, the stop means also providing a preselected amount of space between adjacent plates to cause a desired amount of compression for a sealing member between the plates. The alignment and stop means is designed to absorb the compression load on the plates, thereby enabling them to be made of lighter metal or plastic materials without overstressing their side walls.
