    摘要: Strain crystallizable 3,4-polyisoprene having a 3,4-microstructure content which is within the range of about 65% to about 85%, a cis-1,4-microstructure content which is within the range of about 15% to about 35%, and essentially no trans-1,4-microstructure or 1,2-microstructure can be synthesized in organic solvents to quantitative yields after short polymerization times by utilizing the catalyst systems of this invention. This invention specifically discloses a process for the synthesis of 3,4-polyisoprene which comprises polymerizing isoprene monomer in an organic solvent at a temperatIre which is within the range of about -10.degree. C. to about 100.degree. C. in the presence of a catalyst system which is comprised of (a) an organoiron compound which is soluble in the organic solvent, wherein the iron in the organoiron compound is in the +3 oxidation state, (b) a partially hydrolyzed organoaluminum compound which was prepared by adding a protonic compound selected from the group consisting of water, alcohols and carboxylic acids to the organoaluminum compound, and (c) a chelating aromatic amine; wherein the molar ratio of the chelating amine to the organoiron compound is within the range of about 0.1:1 to about 1:1, wherein the molar ratio of the organoaluminum compound to the organoiron compound is within the range of about 5:1 to about 200:1, and wherein the molar ratio of the protonic compound to the organoaluminum compound is within the range of about 0,001:1 to about 0.2:1.

    摘要: Rolls having a polyurethane elastomer formed from a polyurethane mixture, wherein the polyurethane mixture comprises polydiene, tri-functional polyol curative, an additional graft polymer curative having a molecular weight of at least about 800 and comprising diol, polyol, diamine, polyamine or a combination thereof, conductive modifier, antioxidant, and hydrolytic stabilizer. Methods of forming such rolls include casting the polyurethane mixture, followed by curing, then demolding, grinding to desired dimensions and baking such that the outer layer of the cured roll is oxidized.

    摘要: Polyurethane elastomers are formed from first and second graft curatives, each graft curative having a molecular weight of at least about 800, wherein the first and second graft curatives are substantially immiscible with one another, and wherein the polyurethane elastomer exhibits a hardness of less than about 40 Shore A according to ASTM D2240-86 and a compression set of less than about 8% according to ASTM D395-89, method B, at a temperature of about 70° C. for about 22 hours. Rolls are manufactured using such polyurethane elastomers, particularly rolls that are suitable for use in image forming devices, such as electrophotographic print applications.

    摘要: The invention is directed to several embodiments of metallic cord for the reinforcement of tires wherein one or more coaxial layers of metallic filaments are arranged around the metallic core filaments and twisted in the same direction at the same pitch. In one embodiment, the ratio of the diameter of the core filaments to the layer filaments is at least 1.28. In another embodiment, two of the core filaments have a first diameter and the third core filament has a second diameter smaller than the first diameter daimeter. In still another embodiment, two of the core filaments have a first diameter and a third of the core filaments has a second diameter smaller than the first diameter while the coaxial layer filaments have a third diameter equal to the second diameter. In another embodiment, the core has three core filaments twisted about each other and a coaxial layer of eight layer filaments arranged around the core filaments. In yet another embodiment, the core filaments have a first diameter and the layer filaments have a second diameter which is larger than the first diameter.
