Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an aqueous dispersion slurry coating material which has excellent storage stability and which can provide a coating film having excellent surface smoothness. The aqueous dispersion slurry coating material includes: an aqueous medium; and contained therein, resin particles (A) comprising a first resin (a); and resin particles (B) comprising a second resin (b), wherein the value of [volume-average particle diameter DA of resin particles (A)]/[volume-average particle diameter DB of resin particles (B)] is in the range of 0.003 to 0.3. It is preferred that the value of DA is in the range of 0.001 to 3 μm and that the value of DB is in the range of 0.3 to 10 μm. The resin (a) preferably has a Tg of 0 to 100° C., and the resin (b) preferably has a Tg of −50 to 50° C. The aqueous dispersion slurry coating material preferably further includes a surfactant and a curing agent. The resin (a) and the resin (b) are preferably of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of polyurethane resins, epoxy resins, vinyl resins, and polyester resins.
Abstract:
Sputtering particles are deposited immediately after activating a surface of a substrate composed of a carbon-containing material. Accordingly, a process for reforming a surface of a substrate, a substrate with a reformed surface, and an apparatus therefor are provided in which the depositability and adhesiveness of the sputtering particles are improved. A vacuum ultraviolet light is generated by a laser beam. A surface of a substrate composed of a carbon-containing material is exposed to the generated vacuum ultraviolet light. As a result, the surface of the substrate is activated. Simultaneously therewith, a sputtering particles-generating device generates sputtering particles, such as neutral atoms, ions and clusters. The resultant sputtering particles are deposited on the activated surface of the substrate. Since the sputtering particles are deposited immediately after the surface of the substrate is activated, they are adhered firmly on the surface of the substrate.
Abstract:
A weathering test method comprising making active oxygen and light simultaneously act on a test piece, a weathering test method comprising successive and/or alternate steps of making active oxygen and light simultaneously act on a test piece and making at least one of light, oxygen, and water to act on the test piece, and apparatus for carrying out the methods are disclosed. In evaluating weatherability of organic materials, articles made of organic materials or articles coated with organic materials, the methods and apparatus achieve acceleration of deterioration of test pieces to greatly reduce the testing time.
Abstract:
A rotating spraying type coating apparatus having a spraying head attached to a rotating shaft of a rotating drive device, a paint supply passage connected to the proximal end of the spraying head, and a paint radiating portion formed at the distal end of the spraying head to thereby spray paint particles from the paint radiating portion. The apparatus is provided with a partition member which is disposed around the outer periphery of the spraying head in opposing relation to the latter, and at least a pair of air outlet ports which are disposed in such a manner that air is jetted out forwardly from the air outlet ports toward the outer peripheral surface of the partition member. Thus, the direction of spray of paint particles from the paint radiating portion is controlled by means of the jetted air, and it is possible to obtain elliptical and dumbbell-shaped spray patterns which cannot be obtained by the conventional rotating spraying type coating apparatuses.
Abstract:
