    摘要: This invention relates to a test stand for simulation of the exhaust flow of an internal combustion engine, comprising a cylinder (36) and a base body (39) which is designed as a cylinder head and in which at least one exhaust port (41, 42) which is monitored by a charge cycle valve (43, 44) is provided for simulation, and/or, mapping, of a combustion chamber and a trough and/or cup (40) is also provided, whereby the charge cycle valve (43, 44) can be operated with the help of a valve lift switching [device], a control device for the valve lift shifting and a device for filling the cylinder (36) with compressed air.

    摘要: In a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, the cylinders are disposed in two rows, the cylinders in one row being staggered with respect to the cylinders in the other row and the longitudinal axes of the cylinders in the first row being disposed at an angle to the longitudinal axes of the cylinders in the other row. The outlet valves are located close to the plane of symmetry between the rows of cylinders whereas the inlet valves are located out of this plane. All of the outlet valves of both rows of cylinders are provided with a common centrally located camshaft whereas the inlet valves of each row of cylinders is provided with a dedicated sidelocated camshaft for each row.

    摘要: A crankshaft is provided with a plurality of counterweights which are asymmetrically formed so that one surface has a shape which induces a flow of air and oil mist in a preselected and preferred direction. This shape also improves the aerodynamic characteristic of the counterweight and reduces the friction that the counterweight would otherwise experience as it rotates about the rotational axis of the crankshaft. A tapered surface is provided on a lower surface of each crankshaft and the tapered surface is positioned at a leading edge of each counterweight.

    摘要: An overhead cam motorcycle engine includes a cylinder head, a cam cover coupled to the cylinder head, a sealing gasket, and a substantially rigid insert. The cylinder head includes an aperture that is substantially axially aligned with an engine camshaft axis. The resilient gasket includes a sealing jacket that defines an opening. The gasket is positioned between the cylinder head and the cam cover such that the sealing jacket occupies the aperture. The insert is positioned in the opening in the sealing jacket to seal the cylinder head and cam cover interface.
