Abstract:
A system and method assists a dispatcher in responding to callers requesting medical transfers for a patient. A computer implemented medical transfer protocol includes interrogatories for a dispatcher to ask a caller to generate an appropriate medical transfer. The medical transfer protocol selects a medical vehicle with the appropriate equipment, medicinal inventory, and trained medical personnel.
Abstract:
A call center for handling requests for medical transportation utilizes a system that assists a call center agent by automatically determining, or prompting the agent to ask for, all information needed to assess the level of service required and the effects of any applicable contractual provisions. The system captures information relating to the patient and the requested transportation, and applies service level rules representing the applicable regulatory requirements for medical transportation at the location of the patient to determine the required level of service based on the patient's condition and needs. The system further applies business rules representing the contractual provisions that are applicable to the requested transportation to determine responsibility for the cost of transportation, the authority of the requester to change the level of service or other aspects of the transportation, and the responsibility for the cost of transportation in the event that an aspect of the transportation has been changed.

Abstract:
A processor interface chip and a maintenance diagnostic chip are provided coupled with two microprocessors designed to be run in tandem. The processor interface chip includes logic for interfacing between the microprocessors and a main memory, logic for pipelining multiple microprocessor requests between the microprocessors and main memory, logic for prefetching data before a microprocessor issues a read request, logic for allowing a boot to occur from code anywhere in physical memory without regard to the microprocessors' fixed memory location for boot code, and logic for intelligently limiting the flow of interrupt information over a processor bus between the microprocessors and the processor interface chip. The maintenance diagnostic chip includes logic to halt either of the microprocessors if an error is detected, and read out the state of the microprocessors and a secondary cache attached to the microprocessors, before the state of the microprocessors at the time of the fault changes to a different state which might hide evidence of the cause of the fault.

Abstract:
A system for continuously establishing and indicating the location of a movable object comprises a first transmitter secured to the object for periodically transmitting, at a first predetermined frequency, first radio frequency signals representative of an identification code uniquely associated with the object. A plurality of receiver/repeater stations are positioned at spaced locations within a predetermined geographic area, each receiver/repeater station including a plurality of spaced receivers for receiving and demodulating the first radio frequency signals to provide an object identification code signal and a device associated with each first receiver for determining the strength of the received first radio frequency signal and for generating a strength signal for each receiver. Signal processor circuitry and a computer are centrally located within the predetermined geographic area in communication with the first receiver and the strength determining device for receiving the signals representative of the object identification code and the strength signals, for calculating the location of the object based upon the strength signals and for storing signals representative of the object identification code and the location of the object. A master tracking station is in communication with the signal processing circuitry and computer for each of a plurality of predetermined geographic areas. The master tracking station receives and stores the signals representative of the object identification code and the object location and provides a visual indication of the object identification code and object location.
