Abstract:
A control unit for a motor vehicle having a microprocessor that comprises at least two computation cores, a monitoring module that is separate from the microprocessor, an evaluation module for evaluating input signals provided by sensors, and an activation module comprising at least one end stage for producing output signals to activate actuators. A control function is implemented in a first computation core, a monitoring function for the first computation core of the microprocessor is implemented in the second computation core of the microprocessor, and a monitoring function for the second computation core of the microprocessor is implemented in the monitoring module. Starting from the first computation core and/or starting from the second computation core and/or starting from the monitoring module, a switch-off module can be activated to switch off the at least one end stage of the activation module.
Abstract:
A compensating circuit for a mixer stage is provided, wherein the mixer stage has an input stage to which an input signal for mixing can be applied and has, following the input stage, a switching stage for mixing a differential input signal—obtained from the input stage as a function of the input signal—with an oscillator signal, wherein the input of the compensating circuit can be connected to an input signal terminal of the input stage and the output of the compensating circuit can be connected to an input signal terminal of the switching circuit at which the differential input signal obtained by means of the input stage is present, and wherein a compensating signal obtained by means of a compensating stage of the compensating circuit, in particular for compensating intermodulation products, can be produced by the compensating circuit at its output. The compensating circuit has a compensating input stage with means for influencing an amplitude and/or phase of the input signal, by which means the compensating stage can be supplied with a modified input signal.
Abstract:
A filter assembly for use with compressor assemblies such as oxygen concentrators, ventilators and other breathing apparatus including a compartmented housing member having at least one inlet opening, an outlet opening, a filter member, and an adjustment member associated with the at least one outlet opening for varying the size of the at least one outlet opening for adjusting the amount of ambient air entering the filter assembly.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for exercising a body part of a person, comprising a substantially annular member, means for gripping the member, the gripping means being arranged substantially in the centre of the annulus, a weight and means for guiding the weight along the member for generating a centrifugal force caused by rotation of the weight along the annular member. The present invention also relates to a method of exercising a body part of a person.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Apparatus to achieve both more uniform and particle free DLC deposition is disclosed which automatically cycles between modes to effect automatic removal of carbon-based buildups or which provides barriers to achieve proper gas flow involves differing circuitry and design parameter options. One ion source may be used in two different modes whether for DLC deposition or not through automatic control of gas flow types and rates and through the control of the power applied to achieve maximum throughput or other desired processing goals. Arcing can be controlled and even permitted to optimize the overall results achieved.
